Does SmartPass track you? ›

Your child's data is confidential and secure with SmartPass. We do not use GPS tracking, nor do we track individual student locations, but we provide valuable insights to ensure students are where they should be.

The app does not account for the fact that some people may need more time outside of class than others. This app does not take into account students who have health issues such as IBS, excretory problems, or menstrual cramps. Some students also need mental health breaks throughout the day.

Logging In and Student Home Page

From my research, I found that SmartPass costs between two and five dollars per student, which adds up to several thousand dollars. In a time when public school funding is sparse, I think this money could be used more productively. Overall, there are many issues students have with the SmartPass system.

SmartPass's most controversial feature is its timer. The app times students while they go wherever they need to, most prevalently, the bathroom. Timing the trip and usage of the bathroom is a problem for many students, and they don't particularly enjoy it either.

SmartPass creates instant reports of active passes and destinations. Locating that student and providing immediate support is easier than ever. SmartPass fosters student accountability for their movement during the school day. Limiting hallway time makes it easier to prevent destructive and harmful student behaviors.

A Smart Pass PIN is a 4-digit number you set while activating Smart Pass. Use this to authorise Mobile Banking transactions on the same device that has Smart Pass activated on it. You can also use Smart Pass Touch or Face ID enabled on your device to authorise the transactions.

They're easy to generate: Launch the Emirates Islamic Mobile Banking App on the device where Smart Pass is activated. Click on Smart Pass and enter your Smart Pass PIN. Click on Show Token.

Adding, Removing, and Using

To add a favorite room, select the gear icon on the top right of your teacher view, and click "Favorites". From here, simply search for the room you would like to set as a favorite and click on the star to the left of the room name. Once done, you will see it jump to your favorites section.

e-hallpass tracks when passes are granted to students, what locations they say they're going to, and when they arrive (the same amount of data a school would gather with paper hall pass tracking). It does not use device-based location data or any other location-tracking software or hardware.

From the admin dashboard, navigate to the "Explore" tab on the far left and select the "Passes" page. Select a few passes, or utilize the box at the top to delete all passes. Once these passes have been selected, press the three dots in the top right corner, and press delete.
