Do you want to wash your car but see that the weather channel says it’s going to rain? You’re in the sam situation that many people fall into when it comes to cleaning up their car.

The thought it, you want to clean your car because it’s dirty. But because it’s going to rain, it’s going to get dirty right after you wash it. Making your time, energy, and perhaps money, count for nothing.

So a lot of times people will wait to the rain is over or wait for a couple days until they know they’re going to have a week or so of sunshine.

In this article, I’m going to cover a few pointson whether or not you should clean your car when it’s going to rain.

It’s Always Going To Get Dirty

You have to keep in mind that, no matter when you decide to wash your car, in a few days, even if it’s not going to rain, your car will get dirty again.

You can easily think about it just like humans- we shower everyday, but even though we’re going to get dirty the next day (or in a few hours) we still need to bathe.

Of course, the obvious reason is why that’s not a great analogy. But the concept is the same. If you want to take proper care of your vehicle, then washing it when it dirty is vital- even if it’s going to rain that same day or next day.

Personal Preference

The next thing that comes to mind is it really does come down to your own personal preference. For instance, if you have a hectic schedule with work and life and you’re always in a rush to get to the next thing to-do, then washing your car may not be something you’re worried about at the moment.

On the other hand, if you like to keep your car clean throughout the entire week, then you’re thought process is going to be much different.

There is no right or wrong answer to this. It’s simply what you want to spend your time and energy on. If you don’t think it’s going to be worth your time to wash your car, don’t do it. If you want to maintain your vehicle at a high level-even though it’s going to rain- then do that, too.

The Longer You Wait, The Dirtier It Gets

It’s as simple as that. The longer you wait to wash your car- or for the weather to clear up- the dirtier your car is going to get. Which means it’ll be a bit more work when it comes time to wash your car.

This also means that your car is a lot more prone to micro-scratching since you have a lot of dirty stuck onto the paint that’s constantly rubbing the paint as you drive, get in and out of the car, and have people leaning on your car.

If you wash your car once a week, it’ll be much easier to clean and your car will look in a much bettercondition than if you only washed your car once a month or twice a week.
