About identity verification requests

To protect your account and the security of your money, you might be asked to verify your identity when using Apple Cash, even if you have previously done so. You'll also be asked to verify your identity if you add or receive $500 or more in your Apple Cash account in total.

If you don't have enough money in your Apple Cash balance to send a payment, you can pay the remainder with your debit card.

Your account may also be restricted if you dispute an unauthorized transaction with your bank and a chargeback is filed. Your account restriction or lock may be temporary until you verify your identity or while your account is under review, or you may need to contact Apple Support for next steps.

What's the difference between Apple Cash and Apple Pay? Apple Cash is a digital card in Wallet that lets you send and receive money in Messages or Wallet. The money you receive appears on your Apple Cash card in Wallet. You can spend it however you like in stores, online, and in apps with Apple Pay.
