The scenic river trip Coeur d’Alene River Float is located35 minutes east of Coeur d’Alene, ID meeting at the river shop. River shop is just two miles off interstate I-90 near Kingston, Idaho.

This Coeur d’Alene River trip is a great way to spend half the day in the Coeur d’Alene/Spokane area.Great for all ages and abilities as your guide does the paddling through a gorgeous watershed. Nervous about younger children on the boats? This is your float trip! Picture a lazy river, warm breezes and a total release of all your cares! Guests view birds, moose, and has North Idaho written all over it.
The watershed scenic trip is a peaceful section of river with gentle flows that run all summer long. Jump in to swim! This is a crystal clear spring fed water that houses Cutthroat year round and Chinook Salmon in the fall. The CDA River is known as a blue ribbon protected scenic river and a gem of Idaho. Participants often see a variety of birds: Blue heron, wood ducks, mallards, bald eagles, read tail hawks, mud swallow, and kingfishers. Bring your camera or binoculars.
Coeur d’Alene River floats lasts between 2.5-3.5 hours depending on season and water flow.

The CDA River
The Coeur d’Alene River flows 37 miles from the Silver Valley into Lake Coeur d’Alene. The stream continues out of Lake Coeur d’Alene as the Spokane River. This section is known as the North Fork, stretching almost to Lake Pend Oreille. The South Fork of the CDA River flows east from an area by the Montana border. Flowing through historic mining areas of the Silver Valley past numerous communities, it is a superb recreational river for numerous pursuits, from easy scenic floats to paddling and, particularly in upstream stretches, fly fishing!
This trip is 2.5 (early summer) to 3.5 hours long (depending on water flows). We will assist you moving your vehicle to the river take out (ending point) before departure. This takes about 15 minutes. In that way you can take off as soon as your trip is completed.
Meeting Time: Prior Reservations Required. Please meet your guide 10 minutes prior to departure and CHECK IN at Castaway Outfitters located 35 minutes east of CDA just off I-90 at: 1560 Coeur D’Alene River Rd, Kingston Idaho, 83839
What to Bring:
• Wear Sunscreen
• Wear Sunglasses with retaining head strap – such as “Chums” and Hat
• Wear nylon shorts with swimsuit
• Tennis shoes or sport sandals with straps or flip flops (your feet will get wet)
• Filled reusable Water Bottle to set in boat near you
• Waterproof camera (optional)/Cell Phone with protective case in case gets dropped in water
• Polypropylene long underwear or non-cotton base layers and jackets/hat on cold days in Spring or Fall.
No lunch is included in this half day trip, so please bring snacks and lunch if desired. Cooler is provided with ice.
