What is the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fee credit?
Certain travel credit cards may offer a statement credit as reimbursem*nt for a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee. Chase credit cards with this fee credit benefit have annual fees, and cardmembers can be eligible for one statement credit up to $100 every four years.
If you have a Chase card with a fee credit benefit for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry or NEXUS, you aren't automatically enrolled in any of the programs. You have to apply for a program and pay the application fee with your card. If you're eligible for reimbursem*nt, a statement credit will post to your account after the fee does.
How to use the Global Entry credit
To be eligible for the statement credit, you have to pay the Global Entry application fee with your Chase Sapphire Reserve® credit card. This fee is due as you submit your Global Entry application. After the charge posts to your Sapphire Reserve card, you can receive a statement credit up to $100. This reimbursem*nt benefit is available every four years.
How to use the TSA PreCheck credit
When you first apply for TSA PreCheck, the fee is due at your in-person appointment. One option to pay the fee is with a credit card. If you use your Sapphire Reserve credit card, it could be be credited afterwards for up to $100.
Does using the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit save money?
A statement credit can reimburse for the cost of a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee if you pay it with a Chase credit card that has this benefit. Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers, for example, can be eligible to receive a statement credit up to $100 every four years for either a Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee. Memberships last five years.
