Recharge or injection wells are subsurface groundwater recharge techniques used to directly discharge water into deep water-bearing zones. Recharge wells can be cased with the material covering the aquifer. If this material is unconsolidated, a screen can be placed in the well in the zone of injection.

There are several ways one can recharge a prepaid or post paid connection.

Stated simply, artificial recharge is a process by which excess surface water is directed into the ground—either by spreading on the surface, by using recharge wells, or by altering natural conditions to increase infiltration—to replenish an aquifer.

However, Singh (1973) has used the following equation for the calculation of recharge through rainfall:(3)Q_r = {C_r - (R_o + E_t)} × A_cwhere Q_r is the volume of the water available for recharge, C_r is the contributing part of the rain, R_o is the direct runoff, E_t is evapotranspiration, and A_c is the area of the catchment.

Recharge is the primary method through which water enters an aquifer. This process usually occurs in the vadose zone below plant roots and is often expressed as a flux to the water table surface. Groundwater recharge also encompasses water moving away from the water table farther into the saturated zone.

Generally, it takes many long, soaking rain events for water to filter through soil and sediments to groundwater. With a return to periodic precipitation, shallow wells predictably return to prior water level conditions within a few weeks or months.

Constant current charging is a method of continuously charging a rechargeable battery at a constant current to prevent overcurrent charge conditions. Constant voltage charging is a method of charging at a constant voltage to prevent overcharging.

Generally, most of the charging methods commonly used in the market are constant voltage charging method and constant current charging method. The main reason is that the circuit structure of the charger is simple and the design is easy, but there are two main methods for the two methods.

Artificial recharge is the process of spreading or impounding water on the land to increase the infiltration through the soil and percolation to the aquifer or of injecting water by wells directly into the aquifer.

Boulders are placed on bed of the pit, gravels in middle and thick sand is filled on top so that the silt coming in with run off is deposited above thick sand or Morang which can be removed later. Indirect Recharge, also known as in-lieu recharge, where renewable water supplies are used for irrigation instead of groundwater, thus reserving groundwater that otherwise would have been pumped in the form of a credit for future use.
