Symptoms
The appliance may experience a performance issue, or an internal software module panic during high XCOPY requests from hosts.
Cause
- This issue only affects PowerStoreOS 3.0 and above.
- The symptom tends to occur when the source data for XCOPY requests is highly fragmented. The issue may depend on historical data usage or other environmental factors. Under such conditions, internal XCOPY flush processes typically become loaded and slow.
- Eventually, when a stream of high XCOPY requests is received, it may end up delaying internal metadata cache operations in time, resulting in performance degradation, and potentially leading to an internal software module or node panic.
