PIP telephone assessment was created by Chris

Hi All, Well I've just finished a PIP assessment that lasted 1 hour and 50 mins, and again on top of the UC50 assessment two weeks ago, that was an hour and 45 mins, it was another emotional ride, and some of the questions they seem to try trip you up on, such as when you walk, how often do you walk for? Well it varies - it was certainly a tricky call. Just hope I've done enough to retain my PIP at standard rate for both elements. If not, then I guess its the MR thats the next stage, followed by the tribunal should I need that. This is what happened to me last year. I got 0 points for everything, then 0 again at the MR, then 15, and 8 I think it was at the tribunal. It's such a long winded process having to go through it when nothing has changed, other than an increase of my medication which I informed them of. I also don't think the assessor read my initial application because she didn't know what medication I am currently taking. I was told up to 8 weeks for the report from DWP, so just playing the waiting game again I guess now.

Hi Chris

You can request the PIP assessment report (PA4) forty eight hours after your assessment has taken place. Just ring and ask for a copy. If someone says no - just ring off and ring again. Unlike ESA/UC you can have a copy of the assessment report before the decision comes out.

Hi BIS, The assessor I spoke to, I asked her when I could get a report, and she told me it'll be within 8 weeks, and just ask the DWP. I said "It doesn't have a special name or anything like that?" and she replied "No". Amazing how they won't help. I have been given an email address - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - so will I be able to email that and request a PA4 would you know ? Thank you.

Dear Chris, My reaction is that you struck a nasty one, subtle which is even worse, as this sort make you question yourself and or send you up blind alleys.
I'm not a mod but I believe that the email address was a red herring. Ie you could indeed try it but by the time that system responded you would have lost a golden opportunity.
I suggest you follow BIS's advice to phone them [and try again if you get another 'one of those']. As soon as you get the report go carefully through it for point-losing um, errors! . Write, never ever using the word 'lied,' icy coldly debunking each twisting , omission etc referring each to your evidence. If necessary you can refer to extra things like NHS pages that say 'Tramadol is for severe pain' if they have claimed it is for only moderate pain. Phrases such as 'assessor appears to have overlooked/misinterpreted xy evidence 'are the sort of tone. Send ASAP to 'The Decision maker' at the last address DWP wrote from.
A letter like this I am certain thanks to B&W for the idea, saved our daughter [and us!] a third Tribunal.
Good wishes,
Denby

Hi Chris

I would phone and ask for the report. I'm not familiar with the email address.

Hi All,
Thank you for your replies and another update. I took both your advice and called. Wait 47 minutes for first call to be answered, and the girl I spoke too, talk about fast. I could barely understand what she was saying, clearly in a rush, but the just of it, I was told that I can't get a report until after I've received my DWP PIP decision. I mentioned that I have it on good authority that its called a PA4, and that I can get it approx 48 hours after my assessment, which was Wednesday AM. I was told I was wrongly informed, then it went dead. I called again, waited over an hour, and hung up. I searched and searched online for information, and what I've been told on here is clearly correct, so not sure what kind of advisors they have, or what they're being told to tell people who contact them, but it's clearly not good! I did find an online form however via GOV.UK where I could request information via the DWP, so I've asked them, and I'm awaiting a response. Didn't even get an acknowledgement email, so whether this form works or not, your guess is as good as mine.
