Curious about what our logo, the windmill, represents?
Windmills are a familiar feature of the outback Queensland landscape. They are also the universal symbol of life, serenity, resilience, self-sufficiency, and perseverance in a harsh environment.
A more playful and colourful representation of the windmill is the pinwheel, which symbolises diversity, potential, transformation, wish fulfilment and childhood innocence.
In China, the pinwheel is seen as an instrument to turn obstacles into opportunities, and is used to bestow good luck, longevity, health and prosperity to its owner.
Others believe the pinwheel represents the powerful unseen energy behind our inner voice nudging us along like the wind, but often unnoticed, ignored or discounted.
For Q-Psych, the windmill represents:
- the shared context of our therapeutic work with our clients, being Queensland
