You can organize your shortcuts into custom categories by creating folders of related shortcuts. These folders are shown in the Folders area of the Shortcuts screen (iOS) or sidebar (iPadOS). Additionally, when you select All Shortcuts, your custom folders are shown as sections as you scroll.
See your shortcuts organized by category
In the Shortcuts app on your iOS or iPadOS device, do one of the following:
iPhone: Tap in the upper-left corner of the screen.
iPad: Swipe from the left edge of the screen.
A list of categorical folders appears, including All Shortcuts, My Shortcuts, Share Sheet, Apple Watch, and any custom folders you’ve created.
Create a custom folder to organize your shortcuts
In the Shortcuts app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Tap .
Enter a name for the folder.
In the row of icons, choose a glyph (icon) to represent the folder in the list.
When you select shortcuts in an automatic collection, like Apple Watch, the Remove option appears (instead of the Move option). Tapping Remove eliminates the shortcut from the automatic collection, but keeps the shortcut in the All Shortcuts collection.
Delete a custom folder
You can delete a custom folder and optionally delete all the shortcuts inside the deleted folder.
In the Shortcuts app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Tap Edit.
Note: If you have no custom folders, the Edit button does not appear.
Tap next to the folder you want to delete, then tap Delete.
If the folder contains shortcuts, choose an option:
Delete Shortcuts: Deletes the shortcuts in the folder.
Keep Shortcuts: Moves the shortcuts to the All Shortcuts folder.
Tap Done.
Reorder custom folders
You can reorder your custom folders.
In the Shortcuts app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Tap Edit.
Note: If you have no custom folders, the Edit button does not appear.
Drag one or more shortcuts (colored rectangles) to the locations you want (wait until the rectangles rearrange before you lift your finger). Dragging shortcuts into a new category area on the screen adds them to that category. Dragging shortcuts out of a category removes them from that category. To finish, tap Done.
Navigate to the file or folder on your computer. Right click the file or folder and a menu will appear.Left click the Desktop (create shortcut) item on the list.
On your iOS or iPadOS device, touch and hold the background of the Home Screen until the apps begin to jiggle. Tap at the top of the screen to open the widget gallery. Scroll down, then tap Shortcuts. Swipe to choose a widget size.
In the Shortcuts app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap on the shortcut you want to modify. Tap the Icon next to the shortcut name, then do any of the following: Change the shortcut's color: Tap a color swatch. Change the shortcut's glyph (icon): Tap an icon.
From your Home Screen, swipe left until you see the App Library. Your apps are automatically sorted into categories. For example, you might see your social media apps under a Social category. The apps that you use most frequently will automatically reorder based on your usage.
When you run a shortcut, each action in the list of actions runs in order from top to bottom. Each action plays a role in the task you want to accomplish, much like individual steps in a factory assembly line.
First, make sure you're logged into the same Apple ID account on both devices, and make sure both devices have Wi-Fi turned on. In the iCloud section of the Settings app, you'll see a list of apps that can be synced across all of your devices, and you can toggle syncing on or off for each individually.
On your iPhone: Go to Settings, and tap your name at the top. Tap iCloud. Under Apps Using iCloud, turn on every app you'd like to sync by tapping the switch.
Where are shortcuts stored? In the Shortcuts app, shortcuts are organized in collections in the Shortcuts screen (iOS) and Shortcuts sidebar (iPadOS): All Shortcuts: Contains all of your shortcuts and shortcuts available in apps. My Shortcuts: Contains all of your shortcuts.
