Netflix is removing a wealth of fan-favorite films from its catalog in July 2024 including Shrek, The Matrix trilogy, and more.
As reported by GameSpot, Netflix has announced American Psycho, the Back to the Future trilogy, the original Spider-Man trilogy, The Karate Kid, all of Lost, and more are all coming to its streaming service in July, but as one hand gives, the other takes away.
July 31 will therefore be the last days fans can watch Shrek and The Matrix trilogy, alongside Will Smith-starring King Richard, M. Night Shyamalan's Glass, Moneyball, and Scarlett Johansson's Lucy. The 2003 film Hulk starring Eric Bana and the original Resident Evil film alongside Resident Evil: Retribution are leaving too.

Shrek is the beloved animated film from Dreamworks released in 2001, of course, and remains popular even today. Those particularly distraught by its leaving Netflix can perhaps come to terms with it in Shrek's actual swamp, which is now available to visit via rental website Airbnb.
Fans will have a chance to win a stay at a moss-covered, murky-watered paradise themed after Shrek's home but actually in the Scottish Highlands.
