McDermott Cue is the exclusive distributor of Navigator premium tips and chalk for Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Navigator AlphaPro Premium Tips
Navigator Alpha Pro tips feature a new, enhanced 9-layer Japanese Pig leather construction that includes a specially-formulated bottom layer. The harder leather at the base of the tip improves stability and enhances feedback, while decreasing tip deformation.
Within the Navigator tip line, Alpha Pro falls in the midrange for hardness and was created through a proprietary process of adjusting the leather fiber firmness in each layer. The higher compression of the leather will maximize grip force (contact time on the cue ball), which increases cue ball spin when English is applied.
A fiber barrier has been added to each tip to prevent installation adhesives from causing chemical changes that may compromise the leather's integrity.

Navigator Black Premium Tips
Navigator Black tips feature 10 layers of Japanese pigskin leather that are assembled using a proprietary adhesive. This prevents oxidation, meaning the tip won’t get harder after short usage. They are most adaptable tips in the Navigator line, allowing players to shape and mold the tip over time to fit their play style.

Navigator Blue ImpactPro Premium USA & Carom Tips
Navigator Blue Impact Pro tips feature a new, enhanced 9-layer Japanese Pig leather construction that includes a specially-formulated bottom layer. The harder leather at the base of the tip improves stability and enhances feedback, while decreasing tip deformation.
Within the Navigator tip line, Blue Impact Pro is slightly on the harder end of the scale and was created through a proprietary process of adjusting the leather fiber firmness in each layer. The lower compression of the leather will minimize grip force (contact time on the cue ball), which increases cue ball speed and acceleration.
A fiber barrier has been added to each tip to prevent installation adhesives from causing chemical changes that may compromise the leather's integrity.
Navigator Blue Impact snooker tips feature 11 thinner layers of Japanese pigskin leather. This allows them to perform like a one-piece pressed tip, but with more consistency and a much longer lifespan.

Navigator Break Impact Premium Break Tip
The Navigator Break Impact is a hybrid phenolic break tip. Most phenolic tips are designed to generate power, but at the cost of cue ball control. The Break Impact tip’s hybrid construction provides tremendous cue ball control without sacrificing power. This makes it ideal for breaking and jump shots.

Navigator Tip Crystal
Navigator Tip Crystal extends the life of your tip by hardening the outer edge. This helps reduce mushrooming.
If you tap the tip to give the surface some texture, it will hold the chalk better. You can buy special tools to tap the tip, or you can use a rasp, or a coarse file, or coarse sandpaper glued to a wood backing can be rolled over the tip surface. Scuffing with sandpaper also works, but it wears the tip away too fast.
How Often Should You Chalk Your Cue? Some players find success re-chalking after every other shot, but others prefer to re-chalk before each shot they take. You can chalk your cue more sparingly if you want, but if you need to take a shot with some spin, it's a good idea to apply some chalk.
Overall, Kamui Roku is more expensive than the previous two versions but has notable advantages such as durability and cleanliness. Even when its performance is a bit slow compared to 0.98 and 1.21, its benefits make it the best pool chalk for pro players.
Also, if a player is considering a shot that requires some extra spin on the ball, he or she will likely chalk up right before that shot, as the smaller amount of surface area used on both the cue tip and the ball requires additional friction.
Probably the easiest way to improve your break is to use a cue that has been engineered and designed to perform that shot with maximum results. Break cues come in all shapes, sizes, weights, and price ranges so you might need to try a few.
