MVWAP: Moving average length can be changed; the default is 10. This indicator plots a moving average of 4 different timeframes. The types of averages available are: SMA, EMA, DEMA, VWMA, RMA, WMA. This scrip will help to trade with VWAP strategy.

VWAP is the average price a security has traded at throughout the day, based on both volume and price. MVWAP is a user defined average of VWAP calculations and has no final value as it can run fluidly from one day to the next.

Apply a standard deviation of the MVWAP to the charts to see how far away from the average price the market has moved. Each standard deviation is plotted from the MVWAP, therefore, the chart will have three lines above and three lines below the average price, one for every standard deviation.

It looks similar to a moving average line but smoother. VWAP represents a view of price action throughout a single day's trading session. Retail and professional traders may use the VWAP to help them determine intraday price trends. VWAP typically is most useful to short-term traders.

Relative Strength Index (RSI): RSI can be used in conjunction with VWAP to identify overbought or oversold conditions, providing additional confirmation for potential trade setups.

Triple top is a bearish chart pattern which is formed in an uptrend where three tops are lying on a flat horizontal resistance line and pattern will activate only when closing below the neckline or support. Pattern will activate only below the closing 3475 marks.

Our analysis showed that all three strategies had a high win rate when using the beep boop indicator. However, the Macd/Bollinger Band strategy had a higher win rate than both Moving Average and Triple RSI.

Trading Strategy

Because of the differences above, trading strategies for the volume-weighted moving average vs VWAP can be quite different. VWMA can be more effective for identifying trends and may present more trading opportunities if using a short period, like 10 or 20 candles, due to its heightened sensitivity.

Is VWAP good for swing trading? ›

If price is trading above VWAP and comes back to it, a short-term trader might look for it to act as support. If price is trading below VWAP and trades back up into it, a short-term trader might look for it to act as resistance. Swing and position traders use the VWAP in the same way as a moving average.

For intraday trading, the best way to use VWAP is by initiating a buy order when the price falls below it and executing a sell order when the price rises above. Given that prices are subject to fluctuation during the day, vigilant monitoring of these changes is crucial for successful trading.
