The rare White Peafowl is a stunning sight when their dazzling white tails are on full display. These popular peafowl are rare and in great demand by poultry fanciers. The White Peaco*ck, or peahen, is often used as a symbol of purity or love.
The White Peafowl is not an albino, their pure white feathers are a result of a genetic mutation called leucism, where pigment does not stick to the feathers. While a few may be found in the wild, these snow-white peafowl are most commonly a result of selective breeding. Interestingly, when a female White Peahen is paired with a male India Blue Peaco*ck they will produce India Blue, Pied and White peachicks.
These birds are not pinioned and can fly. To request that a wing be clipped, please call our office at (800) 456-3280. Please note, even with their wing clipped, peafowl can jump 8 feet in the air.
