Manage Polkadot Validators | Nova Wallet Wiki (2024)

Validators can often vary in the amount of time that they are elected and their performance. These factors ultimately can affect the amount of staking rewards you earn from nominating to them. As such Nova Wallet recommends that you monitor your Validator's performance on a semi-frequent basis.

Nova Wallet by default will nominate your stake to recommended Validators. These Validators are selected by an algorithm every staking era (24 hours on Polkadot) based on a range of security and profitability criteria. You can manually select Validators if you so desire at any time.

  • Open the Nova Wallet application.

  • Select the Staking screen.

  • Select your staking position, in this case, would be Polkadot DOT.

  • From the Polkadot staking screen select "Your validators".

  • From the Your validators screen select Change.

  • You can now choose to select Nova Wallet's recommended validators, or you can choose to select them by yourself.

  • Once you are happy with your validators select Continue.

  • Review the contextual information including any associated fees and select Confirm.

  • Your validators will now be updated in the next staking era.
