Is Zen broadband worth it? ›

We don't sell broadband directly. We build the full fibre network and we work with over 30 broadband providers, including Vodafone, TalkTalk, Zen and Giganet, who will provide the full fibre broadband service, offering a range of packages to choose from.

The Zen packages we've created in partnership with CityFibre offer you a variety of speeds based on what your exact needs are. Our top full fibre package offers you download speeds of 900mbps with an average upload speed of 100mbps.

Vodafone is ranked in the Top 10 internet providers globally. Our IP Transit services provides Communication Service Providers fast, congestion-free connectivity to the internet over our wholly owned global IP backbone.

CityFibre do not install Telephone or Television services on behalf of broadband providers.

To connect your property to our full fibre network, our engineers will take the fibre cable from the street into your property. This is usually done through a shallow trench which is dug in front of your property or occasionally through an aerial.

Whilst CityFibre do not provide landlines, your broadband provider may look to bundle a full fibre broadband package with other services such as a landline or alternatively digital phone services.

What ports do we block? Zen block the ports between 135-139 on UDP and TCP, at the outside of our gateway servers. This means traffic on these ports between our gateways, other Zen servers and the global Internet, would be blocked.

Do I need a landline with full fibre? Full fibre broadband works without a traditional copper landline connection.

A good download speed is at least 100Mbps, and a good upload speed is at least 10 Mbps. With 100Mbps, you can stream movies, attend Zoom meetings, and play games online all on several devices at the same time. Some people can get away with fewer Mbps, and others need more.

Wi-Fi is a wireless connection between multiple devices and your router, and just one of the ways you can access the internet. Broadband is the actual internet connection afforded by your internet service provider (ISP), which you can access directly via a LAN or ethernet connection between your modem and device.

Choose a deal and sign up

You can pick a date for your new broadband to go live, and arrange an engineer visit if necessary. In most cases, your new provider will handle the whole switch, including serving notice to your current provider. They'll also send you a brand-new router in the post.
