The Magma Skull is a pre-Hardmode accessory crafted from a Lava Charm and an Obsidian Skull, combining the effects of both items. It can also be worn in a Social Accessory Slot as a vanity head item.
When the Magma Skull is equipped and the player comes into contact with lava, a 7-second countdown begins, signified by a lava meter that displays over the player's head. It operates similarly to the Breath meter, but displays flame icons instead of bubbles. Lava immunity time is recharged gradually by exiting lava, the same way breathing time is recharged by exiting water (albeit much more slowly).
The Magma Skull also grants immunity to the burning damage normally inflicted by contact with Meteorite, Hellstone, and Hellstone Brick. It does not grant immunity to other fire-based damage.
The Magma Skull and the Molten Charm provide functionally identical effects, but are used to craft different items. The Magma Skull can be combined with an Obsidian Rose or Obsidian Skull Rose to craft the Molten Skull Rose.
