The Currency Exchange is a system where players can exchange currencies in Lost Ark. It allows you to exchange Lost Ark gold for Crystals or turn your Royal Crystals into gold. But it can be difficult to understand how the system works, so this guide would help you.
Three Currencies You Can Exchange
1. Gold
Gold is the only currency you can buy things from other players in the Auction House. You can purchase gold with Royal Crystals or exchange gold for Crystals.
2. Royal Crystals
Royal Crystals (RC for short) are the real-money currency in Lost Ark. You can buy them with real-world money and use them in Lost Ark Shop. With Royal Crystals, you can get Lost Ark gold – the king of all currencies in Lost Ark.
Remember that you are not directly purchasing gold with RC. Instead, RC are automatically converted to Blue Crystals (BC), and once the game finds other players selling gold at the same gold-to-BC rate, the deal is made.
Royal Crystal to Blue Crystal Rate
In the case of buying gold, the game automatically converts RC to BC at a rate set by Smilegate, and the current rate is 238:100, which means238 Royal Crystals = 100 Blue Crystals.
3. Crystals
Crystals are also known as Blue Crystals (BC for short). You can acquire Blue Crystals through regular in-game activities of different sorts, but you can also convert your gold to Crystals, which is how people who don't want to spend actual money on the game get access to Lost Ark shop items.
Another way to get Crystals is spending Royal Crystals. Open the Crystal option in Lost Ark Shop, and there you can buy BC with your RC. However, it will cost you real-life cash to do so.
Understanding the Currency Exchange
You can find Currency Exchange at the bottom of the Lost Ark Shop, and clicking the button will open the Currency Exchange system. There are four panels: Royal Crystal/Crystal Sale Offers, Crystal Purchase Offers, Recent Prices, and Purchase Gold/Buy Crystals.
Royal Crystal/Crystal Sale Offers: 5 Sales with Lowest Price
In this panel, you will see the currencies that are actively being sold by players. You'll find the quantity in stock under Royral Crystals/Crystal Sale Offers, and the Sale Price per 238 Royal Crystals/100 Crystals on the right.
Note: The text displayed in the RC Sale Offer panel “Gold traded per 1 Royal Crystal” actually means “Gold traded per 238 Royal Crystals”.
Crystal Purchase Offers: 5 Highest Price Listings
In this panel, the Sale Price indicates their offer for every 100 Crystals, and the Crystal Purchase Offers section refers to how many they want to purchase.
Purchase Gold/Buy Crystals
Purchase Gold/Buy Crystalsis the panel on which people who want to get gold or Crystals need to focus.
Purchase Gold with Royal Crystals
Under the Purchase Gold section, the Sale Price is how much gold you will get, and the Purchase Cost is the cost for gold in Royal Crystals. In the picture below, the Sale Price is 431 gold, and the Purchase Cost is 238 RC.
If you think 431 gold is unfair and want more gold with the given Royal Crystal, you can put the amount you want in the Sale Price. But keep in mind that you may not get your specified amount of gold because this is a system based upon the activities of other real players who are engaging with it.
After putting the amount, click on Add. Now a window will pop up with some information. Click on Add again and then click OK when you see a Transaction Complete message.
To claim your gold, click History on the top of the Currency Exchange window. You will see a Transaction Results panel on the bottom right. Under Gold, you can see an obtainable amount of gold. Click on Claim.
*Note: there is a daily limit of 10 listings/sales.
Buy Crystals with Gold
The Buy Crystal section works the same way as Purchase Gold. But in this part, you are buying Crystals, using your gold. Note that the system will charge you a 5% fee for every gold-to-Crystal transaction. Therefore, after you paid 431 gold for 100 Blue Crystals, you will only receive 95 BC.

A Player Wants to Buy Gold:
1. Buy Royal Crystal (RC) from Lost Ark Shop
2. Go to Currency Exchange and list an offer saying how much gold they want.
3. Royal Crystals are automatically converted to Blue Crystals(BC) (for the other party in the trade)
A Player Wants to Buy Blue Crystals:
1. Farm gold in-game (or buy it with RC as mentioned above)
2. Go to Currency Exchange and list an offer saying how many BC they want. (that gold then goes to someone selling their RC that automatically convert to BC when you receive it)
