LayerZero is now live in Mainnet Beta on Solana!
This integration will connect Solana with over 70 other chains supported by LayerZero, enabling applications and tokens to seamlessly interact across these networks. It allows applications to send, verify, and execute messages across all supported chains, creating more opportunities to develop innovative products such as tokens, DeFi protocols, NFTs, games, and more.
Currently, the LayerZero Endpoint on Solana is in Mainnet Beta, so messaging is enabled across eight chains: Solana, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Chain, Avalanche, and Polygon. After the fourth and final round of audits is completed, the Mainnet Beta designation will be removed, and all 70 chains will be connected to Solana.
This post covers why the Solana integration is important, how developers can leverage this integration, and what they can do today.
Solana is a high-performance, scalable blockchain that handles thousands of transactions per second with minimal fees. This has contributed to its significant growth in 2024. For example, Solana processed 2.44 billion transactions, capturing 69.5% market share among leading blockchains over the past 90 days.
LayerZero is an interoperability protocol with over 130 million total messages sent across 70+ blockchain networks. Notably, 170+ OApps (Omnichain Apps), including 120+ OFTs (Omnichain Fungible Tokens) have deployed using LayerZero’s cross-chain contract standards, leading all other interoperability protocols in the market.
With Solana now supported, existing OApps and OFTs can seamlessly extend to Solana and its millions of users. Additionally, Solana applications and tokens can now enable omnichain functionality, allowing interaction with all LayerZero-connected chains, including Ethereum, L2 rollups, and other EVM L1s. For example, a token can now be deployed and cross-functionally used on Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Avalanche. Similarly, a lending market could operate across Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Solana.
Developing on Solana is different from EVM chains due to its unique execution environment, the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). However, LayerZero’s unified semantics ensure consistent functionality across all supported blockchains. While there are still differences in developing OApps on EVM versus SVM, LayerZero simplifies the process, allowing developers to deploy contracts across various environments. This abstraction streamlines development for applications interacting with both Solana and EVM chains.
With LayerZero, developers can deploy an OApp natively on Solana and extend to other chains, or upgrade their applications via an adapter to become an OApp on Solana from other chains.

At launch, LayerZero will connect Solana to seven chains (Ethereum, Avalanche, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Optimism, Base) and plans to expand to a full mesh network of 70+ soon. Just as the Solana blockchain is currently described as “Mainnet Beta,” the LayerZero Endpoint on Solana will also be referred to as “Mainnet Beta.” This designation will be updated in LayerZero documentation after the Endpoint undergoes its fourth and final audit.
The launch of LayerZero on Solana significantly enhances blockchain interoperability, eventually connecting Solana with over 70 other chains. This integration increases the available liquidity for users and apps. Furthermore, it expands app functionality, allowing cross-chain apps to interact with Solana’s high-performance environment.
