Karol G to Be Honored With Woman of the Year at Billboard Latin Women in Music 2024 (2024)

Karol G is set to be honored with Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music 2024, BillboardandTelemundoannounced on Wednesday (May 29).

Just months after being named as Billboard‘s 2024 Woman of the Year in March, Karol will be recognized once more on June 9 for her extraordinary milestones and unparalleled impact on the music industry. The show will air exclusively on Telemundo at 9 p.m. ET, and will be simultaneously available on the Telemundo app and Peaco*ck.

Over the past few years, Karol G has become a force to be reckoned with. In 2023, Karol became the first female artist to top theBillboard 200with a Spanish-language album thanks toMañana Será Bonito. She also kicked off her history-making stadium tour in support of the record-breaking set that includes hits like “TQG” with Shakira and “Provenza”. In March, she won her first Grammy, taking home best música urbana album forMañana Será Bonito.

Additionally, Karol launched her Con Cora Foundation, which was established to continue the artist’s social work and mission to support women who lead households, at-risk youth, children facing chronic or disabling diseases, those dealing with teenage pregnancy, women deprived of liberty and post-penalty, as well as low-income women.

Karol G joins the previously announced lineup of powerhouse Latin women shaping the music industry. Honorees include Gloria Estefan who will receive the “Legend” award; Camila Cabello will receive the “Global Impact” award; Ana Bárbara the “Lifetime Achievement” award; Ángela Aguilar who will receive the “Musical Dynasty” award; Kali Uchis who will receive the “Rising Star” award; and Kany García who will receive the “Spirit of Change” award.

The Billboard Latin Women in Music franchise recognizes the importance of Latin women in the music industry and honors those who have positively impacted Latin music and the industry the previous year. The honors bestowed in 2023 included Shakira as “Woman of the Year,” Ana Gabriel as “Living Legend,” Emilia as “Rising Star,” and Thalia as “Global Powerhouse,” among others.

In the coming weeks, additional honorees and details will be announced for the second annual Billboard Latin Women in Music ceremony.
