Is Just Dance 2024 Nintendo Switch worth it? ›

This year, the game doesn't feel like just another installment, but rather an extension of a huge musical library. 'Fun' remains the name of the game with Just Dance 2024 Edition. While this remains as enjoyable as it has ever been, for some that won't do.

Please note that you will only be able to use a Joy-Con controller when playing in offline mode. To play Just Dance 2024 Edition with a friend online*, you both need to have: Access to an internet connection. An active Nintendo Switch Online, PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription.

2024 Edition retains all of the features from 2023 Edition, but introduces new features within the Just Dance hub, such as "Song Sharing", which allows players from any Edition to share songs with each other. All owners of any Edition have access to all Just Dance+ songs and updates.

Just Dance 2024 is a lot of fun as a party game. Unfortunately, the online compulsion and the pressure to take out a subscription for the full range of games hinder the enjoyment of the game. Because a subscription is almost mandatory when selecting the music for the new part.

A handful of song lyrics contain the word “hell,” as well as references to violence (e.g., “Maybe I should kill myself/Blame it on my A.D.D. baby”) and suggestive material (e.g., “I'm a blessing of a body to love on/If you want it bad tonight”).

Further, from July 1, 2024, PlayStation and Xbox players will no longer be able to purchase a subscription to Just Dance Unlimited.

Just Dance 2024 Edition features 40 songs from the latest hits and beloved classics, including “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny, “How You Like That” by BLACKPINK, and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston!

To access additional songs in Just Dance 2023 Edition and Just Dance 2024 Edition you will need an active Just Dance+* subscription.

If you're a Nintendo Switch owner you can use your Joy-Cons to play Just Dance 2024. If you're playing on Xbox or PlayStation 5, you'll need to download the Ubisoft controller app and use your phone as a controller.
