Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin seen together for the first time (2024)

Although their relationship was only revealed last month, it was recently reported that Chris Martin has fallen in love with Jennifer Lawrence.

And the romance is definitely heating up, as these first pictures of the new couple together since they started dating show.

Chris, 37 and 24-year-old Jennifer were spotted stepping off a private jet together in Van Nuys in Los Angeles on Saturday, looking very much like a couple who have been together for some time.

The casually dressed couple seemed perfectly at ease with each other, indicating this is definitely not just a fling.

Jennifer was clad in a grey vest minidress, which showed off her long toned legs and a checked shirt tied around her waist. She tried to go incognito with a beanie and sunglasses but there was no hiding her identity.

Meanwhile Chris was also dressed down in jeans and a blue T-shirt, along with his signature newsboy cap. He carried a brown satchel slung over one shoulder.

The pair were spotted chatting to the crew and some pals as they left the plane and walked over to a waiting car.

This is the first time the father of two and his Hunger Games star girlfriend have been seen together since their romance was reported in April.

Jennifer and Chris' relationship was revealed in August but they first sparked rumours they were dating after they were spotted in deep conversation at the after-party for Coldplay's Royal Albert Hall gig in London on July 1.

They reportedly spent the following weeks texting each other.

Chris - who has daughter, Apple, 10, and son, Moses, eight, with Gwyneth Paltrow - is reportedly so smitten with Jennifer that he has been writing songs for her.

Chris has been churning out the material while spiriting Jennifer away on cosy getaways for two, Us Weekly previously reported.

'He writes her songs and loves taking her to private romantic spots,' a source told the publication. 'Chris is sweeping Jen off her feet. That's his thing.'

It's certainly having a swaying effect on Jennifer, who saw Coldplay's concert in the UK in June and was reportedly mesmerised by Martin.

'Jen was blown away at his London show. His music is absolutely part of the attraction,' the source told Us Weekly, adding: 'The better she gets to know him, the more she likes him.'

Although things are getting serious, the couple have gone to great lengths to avoid being pictured together until now.

Last week Lawrence was seen leaving a concert by Coldplay at Los Angeles' Ace Hotel through a back exit while holding a black leather handbag over her face.

And once her efforts to go undercover via her handbag proved futile, Jennifer covered her highly recognisable face with her hands as she waited in a car.

As she was driven away, the star took things a step further, by pulling her hair over her face.

Eyewitnesses told Us Weekly that rocker Chris essentially serenaded Jennifer for the entirety of the show earlier that evening.

'Just before the show was supposed to start, Jennifer Lawrence walked toward the stage, surrounded by a couple girlfriends, trying to find their seat,' a source told US.

Once Chris hit the stage he immediately scanned the crowd before spotting Lawrence up on a balcony seat, the insider claimed.

Adding: 'He pointed and said "Aha! I see you!" and then smiled and waved. He kept looking up in the direction during the show and smiling, pointing, singing to her.'

The singer performed many of his standards, including his latest song for Hunger Games: Catching Fire titled Atlas.

Another source told the publication that Martin's estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow is positive about the new romance: 'Her take is, "Hey, he could do worse." She just wants him to be happy.'

Meanwhile, the Hunger Games star recently added fuel to the relationship rumours after stepping out in Malibu near Martin's beach house.

Lawrence reportedly visited the Coldplay singer's family home in the iconic and very upmarket neighbourhood earlier this month.

Chris has also already begun bringing the Hunger Games superstar out to meet his friends.

A source told E! News that the two were spotted having dinner with the rocker's pals at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.

'It doesn't seem like it's a new relationship. They seem super affectionate and at ease with each other,' the source said.

They added: 'They seem very comfortable in each other's company - and happy! She is very gregarious and confident ... They seem super cute together.'

Both Jennifer and Chris became newly single this year after ending long-term relationships and this is the first reported post-split romance for both.

The Coldplay frontman made headlines in March when he and Gwyneth announced their divorce - which they termed 'consciously uncoupling' - after a decade and two children together.

Meanwhile, Lawrence called it quits with long time love Nicholas Hoult, whom she also starred with in the film X-Men: First Class.

On top of taking the busy Lawrence out to meet his mates, Martin is reportedly trying to woo the gorgeous blonde in all kinds of romantic ways.

'He writes her songs and loves taking her to private romantic spots,' said the source. 'Chris is sweeping Jen off her feet. That's his thing.'
