Astrology is a Superstition!? Yes I also used to have this perception a few years ago. I hardly used to agree with persons who would tell me to visit a good Astrologer for solutions to my problems for which I did not have an answer.
The Turning Point In My Life:
One fine morning when I was reading the Daily Newspaper, I came across a Handout of a college where they were starting a Basic Course in Astrology somewhere in the month of Oct 2011. Just out of sheer curiosity I decided to join the class. It was not that I wanted to learn it, but simply to know what was so special about it and do the Planets/Grehas/Nakshatras really affect a person’s life in a way that it becomes a necessity sometimes to consult an Astrologer.
Once I joined the class of Astrology, I found that it was Not as much a superstition as I had made the perception of it. Maybe the basic course was all theoretical. But I don’t know how I developed an interest in the subject and then I decided to do an advanced course in Astrology for another one year. Now it was becoming more interesting because of its practical study. And it was during the advanced course that I came to know that it is not at all a superstition. It is as much a Science as other Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and the like. In Medical Sciences Doctors research on Physical Bodies whereas in Astrology we study the effect of Planets and Nakshatras on human beings. We all know that moon is attracted towards the Earth and earth towards Sun. The effect of exalted Moon can be felt in the Ocean when tides are higher at the time of Full Moon.
What I Learnt:
Our Great Grand Rishies and Saints spent whole of their lives to gift us the knowledge of this Magical Science. With their practice of deep Meditation and Tapascharya, they were able to build an insight into the Past, present and future and they preserved this knowledge in the form of Vedas, Granthas and other powerful literature on Astrology. We can never free ourselves from their debts.
Astrology is known as “ VEDANG”which means Part of Vedas ( Ved+Ang). In Rigveda, the description of Planets and Stars/ Nakshatras is as old as 95000 years ago. Whatever incidents we experience occurring on this earth related to nature, all are the results of the retrogression of planets.
I would like to share one very interesting experience- when I analysed my own horoscope , I found that there were combinations of planets and nakshatras which were giving a clear indication that I can become an Astrologer and the best part was that the period when I shall become an Astrologer also reflected in the horoscope clearly.
It is a Science:
Towards the end of twentieth century many branches of Mundane Astrology i.e. the study of heavenly cycles on Nations ,groups, politics etc were developed on the basis of which we have seen so many predictions prove true and every year the predictions based on Falit-Shastra are proved true.
This is the reason that in this age of advanced science and technology many western and eastern countries are being devotional and attracted towards this Wonderful Science of Astrology. Recently some people made a plea to the court that Astrology should not be practised and criticised it but the Supreme Court recently gave its final verdict and declared that as other sciences, astrology is also a science and shall continue to be a science. Jyotish is a science based on age old Sidhantas made by our great Saints and Rishis like Rishi Prashara, Varah-Mahir, Rishi Gemini etc. Whatever was and is discovered in the history of humanity, there was never ever a time when Jyotish was not in existence and hence it can be considered oldest than the old.
To sum up I would like to say that few pundits and persons who do not have complete knowledge or only with basic knowledge have started predicting astrology and are misguiding innocent people in the name of Jyotish. And when their predictions do not prove true, the victims have the courage to say that it’s all nonsense and useless. And due to a handful of people, learned Astrologers are also being defamed.
And last but not the least I would like to say that astrology is related to the theory of Karmas. “Gehana Karmano Gatti”. According to the Holy Book Shrimadh Bhagwad Geeta , Human beings take birth and rebirth to bear the fruits of Karmas ( bad or good) done in their previous births. So I believe if in this birth we have faith in God and consider that God is the only Supreme Power and surrender all our Karmas (good or bad) to him. Moreover if we have a strong will power to handle any situation and do hard work or “PURUSHARTH” , we can be the Makers of our own Destiny.
