When you download andlog intothe Dropbox desktop app or the Dropbox mobile app on any computer, phone, or tablet, that device is added to your device list inthe security page of your account settings. (This was formerly called “linking and unlinking” your devices and your accounts).
Note:This only applies if you log into the desktop or mobile app. If you log into dropbox.com, it doesn’t add that device to your device list.

Log out of a device remotely
You canlog outof any computer, phone, or tablet remotely on dropbox.com.
When you log out of a computer remotely, the Dropbox files synced to that computer remain on that computer and can still be accessed and opened. (This includes foldersbacked up from your computer, but doesn’t include online-only files). However, changes made to your Dropbox files on that computer won’t sync everywhere else you access your files in Dropbox until you log back in on that device.
Note:If a computer is lost or stolen, customers on paid Dropbox planscan choose toremotely delete all of their Dropbox fileswhile logging out remotely. (Instructions below).
When you log out of a phone or tablet remotely, none of your Dropbox files can be opened or accessed from that device until you log in again, including files you made available offline. This is because even though those files were made available offline, they were only accessible in the app and not saved directly to your phone or tablet.
