Have you recently deleted something from your computer’s SSD, but realized that you actually needed that file? Perhaps you misclicked and deleted a file by accident. No matter the reason, it can be tricky attempting to recover SSD data on your own
You could potentially spend hours trying to recover the file, but all of your attempts become futile. Instead of trying to rely on your own intuition, it might be best to turn to software that is designed to recover SSD data.
Particularly, iolo’s Search and Recover™ can assist with finding and restoring deleted files from your computer’s SSD in no time! We explore this in more detail in this blog, so keep reading…
Known as a solid-state drive, an SSD is a relatively new form of storage that is used in computers. In comparison to a hard disk drive (HDD), SSDs are a more efficient and convenient way to store digital data, utilizing flash-based memory.
Particularly, HDDs make use of mechanical platters that spin, with a moving read/write head for accessing data. Meanwhile, SSDs only use a digital memory chip in order to access data.
This makes SSDs silent, fast, and reliable. Newer laptops, already-built PCs, and even gaming consoles (such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X) now come with SSDs integrated within them.
There are two types of SSDs that are on the market, these are:
- SATA SSDs – the traditional form of SSDs, SATA SSDs are typically fitted where they would house HDDs
- NVMe M.2 PCIe SSDs – a newer form of SSDs (and the fastest), these are mounted inside the PC itself
As SSDs are now capable of large storage capacities, many people are turning to SSDs for storing data instead of HDDs.
