If you mistakenly sent an asset to the wrong Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible chain, your asset is not lost. You simply need to manually “import” it so you can view and manage it in the Bitcoin.com Wallet app.

In this guide we’ll describe what to do if you accidentally send “native” MATIC tokens (ie. MATIC tokens that exist on the Polygon network) to your Ethereum wallet. Note that this process will work for any ERC-20 token that is sent to the wrong EVM-compatible chain (Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche), but you’ll need to adapt the following steps accordingly.
Write down your 12-word recovery phrase for the wallet your tokens were accidentally sent to. In this case, that’s your Ethereum wallet. Your recovery phrase can be found in Settings > Backup & Security > Manual backup.
Tap on the "+ ADD/IMPORT" button from the app's home screen.
Under "Asset type," select the chain that the tokens should have been sent to. In this case that’s Polygon (MATIC). Enter your 12-word backup phrase from ETH wallet.
When entering your phrase, all words must be lowercase
Once you have entered all 12 words correctly, tap import. In this case, you’ll tap "IMPORT MATIC WALLET".
If you have followed all the steps correctly, your wallet will now display the correct assets and balance.
