How to Manually Enter DNS Settings on Nintendo Switch (2024)

The following are public DNS provided by Google and are subject to Google's Terms of Service. If you prefer to not use this service, doing an Internet search for public DNS will provide you with several other options you can use.

Select Manual. Select IP Address and then hold down the B Button to delete the existing IP address (it defaults to zeros). Enter the IP address you found on the network device, but add 20 to the last section of digits, and then select OK.

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the ⓘ icon next to the Wi-Fi network that you want to change DNS servers for. Scroll down to find the DNS section and tap Configure DNS. Tap Manual and add Google IP addresses.
To fix problems with the Nintendo Switch not connecting to the internet or Wi-Fi, check the status of your home network or see if Nintendo is reporting any service outages. You might also have to tweak your Wi-Fi router and the Switch console settings to connect to the internet again.
There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, but many players find Google DNS (8.8.8.8 for primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 for secondary DNS) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 for primary and 1.0.
