This article discusses how to manage account-wide settings on dropbox.com. Account settings don't include device-specific preferences for the Dropbox desktop app.

Your Dropbox account settings are managed online and apply to every browser and device you use with Dropbox. Your options may vary depending on your plan, but include:
- Profile and preferences
- Plans and billing
- Passwords, devices, and security
- Notifications, connected apps, and plan-specific features
How to access your account settings
To access your Dropbox account settings:
- Log into dropbox.com.
- Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner.
- ClickSettings. To access different types of settings, click the tabs along the top of the page. Learn more about the different tabs and settings below.
If you're on Dropbox Basic, Plus, or Professional, select Manage account to view subscription and billing information.
General
Basics
Add or update your profile picture, name, and email address.If you’re on Dropbox Essentials, Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, or Enterprise, you may also have options to add a secondary email and link your work and personal accounts.
Info about where you work
If you’re on Dropbox Standard, Essentials, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, or Enterprise, you can add your job title and the name and size of your organization.
Preferences
Set your language, date, and time preferences, and choose whether to get access to our newest features withDropbox early access. You can also clearmanually added contacts, enable the default access to folder uploads, enable theDropbox system extension, and useonline-only files and folders.
Features
If you’re on a paid Dropbox plan, you may have options to enable or open certain features, likeDropbox PasswordsandDropbox Vault.
Delete account
Learn how to delete your Dropbox account.Deleting your Dropbox account deletes all of your data from dropbox.com and unlinks your devices from Dropbox. Deleting your Dropbox account can't be undone.
Plan
If you’re on Dropbox Basic, Plus, Family, or Professional, select Manage account under your avatar to view subscription and billing information.
If you’re on Dropbox Standard, Advanced, or Enterprise, you’ll use this tab to see your current plan and available upgrade options. You can also check your available storage space.
Billing
If you’re on a Dropbox Plus, Professional, or Essentials plan, or are themanager of a Family plan, you can manage your payment method and billing frequency, as well as view invoices and receipts. Certain types of admins canaccess billing information from their admin console.
Family
If you’re a member of a Dropbox Family plan, you can view a list of all the members on your plan. Family plan managers can alsoinvite and remove plan members.
Security
Security checkup
Use thesecurity checkup toolto review your email address, connected apps and devices, and password. If you've multi-step verification enabled (see below), you can also check the authenticator apps, phone numbers, or security keys associated with your account.
Password
Change your passwordregularly to keep your account secure. If you forget your password, you can also reset it from theforgot password pageor by clickingForgot your password?when you log in to dropbox.com.
Recovery codes
View the recovery codes that can be used to access your account in case you lose access to your email or multi-step verification device.
Multi-step verification
Set up and manage multi-step verification to add an extra layer of security to your account. Multi-step verification requires you to enter a security key or code, in addition to your password, when you log in to your Dropbox account. After you’ve followed the steps toenable multi-step verification, you’ll have options to change your verification methods, add a physical security key, and revoke trusted status from linked devices.
Web browsers
Find out which browsers are currently logged in to your Dropbox account from where, and when they were last active. You can log out of recent sessions by clicking “X”next to the time of activity.
Devices
Seewhat devices are linked to your Dropbox account, their location, and when they were last active. Click “X” next to a device to unlink it from your account if you’re no longer using it. When you unlink a device, you’ll be logged out of your Dropbox account on that device, and files and folders on the device won't sync with changes made on dropbox.com or other linked devices.
Paper mobile devices
Unlink all devices that are logged in to theDropbox Paper app. Paper docs and folders are stored online, so unlinking devices won’t affect how they’re updated. You’ll need to log back in to the Paper app when you’re ready to use it.
Mobile contacts
If you’ve allowed the Dropbox mobile app foriOSorAndroidto access your contacts, you canremove them from the suggested contactsin your account.
Notifications
Choose whatemail notifications you’d like to receive from Dropbox. You can opt in or out of notifications about file and account activity, as well as news and updates from Dropbox.
Apps
Manage thethird-party appsthat you’ve connected to your Dropbox account, as well as apps you’ve allowed to access and edit content stored in your Dropbox account. If you’re a member of a Dropbox team,your admin may manage some appsfor your entire team.
Default editing apps
Choose how you’d like to open certain types of files from your Dropbox account, like Microsoft Office files and Paper docs.
Branding
If you’re a Dropbox Professional or Essentials customer, or a member of a Dropbox team, you can usebranded sharingto display your logo and the name of your brand when sharing files and folders with clients.
Refer a friend
If you’re on Dropbox Basic, Plus, Family, or Professional, you can earn up to 32 GB for referrals. You get 1 GB for every friend who installs the Dropbox desktop app, and your friend will get 500 MB. Learn more about how to earn free space.
