How to initialize or reset a SafeNet 5110FIPS USB Token Device password (2024)

Description

To initialize or reset a SafeNet5110FIPS USB Token Device password please follow the steps below:

NOTE:By completing the steps below, if your certificate has already been installed, your certificate will be removed as this process will delete the contents of the SafeNet USB Token Device.

1. Insertthe SafeNet USB Token Device into the computer
2. From the start menu, please run the SafeNet Authentication Client Tools program.
3. Select the Gear icon for the advanced view.
   
   
4. On the left-hand side, right-click on PKI Token-ALADDIN-VRSN, and select Initialize Token.
   
5. In the section Create Token Password, enter your new Token Password and select Start.
   
6. Select OK to reset all the token parameters.
   
7. After theSafeNet USB Token Devicehas been reset, you will now beable to install new certificates on to the tokenwith your new password.

Minimum Password Requirements:

• Your password should contain at least 8 characters.
• Your password should include both upper-case characters and lower-case characters as well as numerals and special characters (for example: !, $, %, #).
• The minimum password length and character requirements apply to both the Token password and the Administrator password.
