Microsoft Windows provides a utility that allows you to zip multiple files into a single compressed file format. This is especially helpful if you are emailing files as attachments or if you need to conserve space (zipping files can reduce file size by up to 50%).
Use "Windows Explorer" or "My Computer" ("File Explorer" on Windows 10) to locate the files you wish to zip. (It will help if you move all the files you wish to zip to a single folder.)
Hold down [Ctrl] on your keyboard > Click on each file you wish to combine into a zipped file.
Right-click and select "Send To" > Choose "Compressed (Zipped) Folder."
Your files will be combined into a single folder with a zipper icon on it. Attach the zipped file to an email in lieu of multiple files.
Instructions for unzipping (extracting) files from a zipped folder are available on the Extract Files from a Zipped (Compressed) Folder help page.

If you use the option '-r', gunzip will recursively unzip all of the files in it. If the directory you specify also has subdirectories, the command will go in and decompress even the files in the subdirectories.
Open File Explorer and find the compressed folder. To unzip the entire folder, right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions. You can also select Extract All from the command ribbon.
Both of these allow you to unzip and zip with two clicks: Here, I have right-clicked on the zipped file and selected "Extract to here." "Extract" is the same thing as "unzip." Windows also sometimes places "Extract files" links in toolbars which may be useful to you.
WinZip can remove selected files or folders from an open Zip file. To do so: Select the desired files and/or folders from the list in the WinZip window. Press the Delete key, or right-click one of the selected items and click Delete in the resulting context menu.
To extract these files on a Linux system it is best to use 7zip, as it has built-in support for multi-part zip files. It is important to note that the file with the . z01 extension is the first part of the multi-part zip file.
By itself, Windows 11 can't handle multiple ZIP files at once. If you select more than one and try to extract them, only the last you selected will be extracted. Thankfully, you can use third-party apps such as WinRAR and 7-Zip to fix that.
