Star Coins are the in-game currency in Disney Dreamlight Valley that you’ll collect from random activities and what you’ll use in buying and selling materials. Once you've collected enough Star Coins, you can purchase various outfit items, furniture pieces, and miscellaneous materials.

How to Make Money Fast in Disney Dreamlight Valley

While you can naturally grind Star Coins from the various Night Thorns that will naturally reappear over time throughout the Valley, here are some of the most reliable ways to earn Star Coins fast.

• Mining Gemstones
• Catching and Selling Fish

Growing and Selling Pumpkins

Pumpkins are the best way to make money in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as they sell for a hefty price tag of 664 Star Coins when sold at Goofy’s Stall. Like any get-rich-fast scheme, you must invest a small amount initially, but it’s worth every penny in the long run.

To get started, you'll need to purchase pumpkin seeds, which will cost 275 Star Coins, so make sure you have at least enough to buy one or two to get farming.

Making a few coins to get this farm going is as easy as buying carrot seeds, which can be purchased from Goofy’s Stall in the Peaceful Meadow. These are cheap to buy as they only cost 10 Star Coins each, and carrots sell for a whopping 44 Star Coins once harvested.

To unlock Pumpkin Seeds, you’ll need to have unlocked the Forgotten Lands, which can be unlocked after you have opened up the Sunlit Plateau. The Sunlit Plateau costs 10,000 Dreamlight to unlock, while the Forgotten Lands costs 15,000 Dreamlight, so it will take some time to get there.

Once the Forgotten Lands is unlocked, you will also need to rebuild Goofy’s Stall within the Forgotten Lands to be able to purchase the seeds.

When the stall is rebuilt, buy as many pumpkin seeds as you can up front, as even though they are quite pricey, you want to maximize your time spent on planting, watering, and harvesting the crop.

Once you have your seeds, you are ready to dig out a plot and begin growing. Pumpkins take 3.5 hours to grow within the Forgotten Lands but take 4 hours outside of that area. So, the best spot to plant them in order to make the most of this farm would be anywhere within the bounds of the Forgotten Lands biome.

Upon choosing a spot, get planting! Pumpkins must be watered twice - once when planted and again after two hours of real-life time has passed, so make sure you complete other tasks while you wait.

Finally, after the four-hour wait is over, it's time to reap what you've sewed! Before you do, though, grab a friend that has the absolute highest friendship level in the farming role.

Even if they are friendship level one, having them hang out with you while you harvest will level their Friendship status up and give you bonus Pumpkins for free! It’s a win-win! This is extremely important, as sometimes they can throw out several extra pumpkins per plant you harvest as their Friendship level progresses, which gives you more money in your pocket with no extra money spent.

Once you have harvested all your pumpkins, bring them to one of Goofy’s Stalls and sell them off for massive profits. Then, rinse and repeat until you reach your Star Coin goal.

Mining Gemstones

There are various deposits around the Valley that you can mine. Some will clearly show gemstones buried inside, so you can mine these and collect the precious jewels that drop. Many of these sell for over 600 Star Coins, so you can quickly repeat this process once the deposits respawn.

You can make this even faster (and more reliable) by hanging out with a friend while doing so. Then, as you build up your Friendship Level with different characters, you can assign them various Roles.

Ensure you have assigned one character to Mining, and choose “Let’s hang out” as a dialogue option.

NOTE: The higher your Friendship Level with this character, the more effective the following method will be!

Should you now mine with this friend, deposits with gemstones have the potential to drop multiple jewels, and furthermore, gemstones will even have a chance to drop from deposits that DON’T display gemstones in them, so you’re likely to receive even more!

Catching and Selling Fish

Another lucrative opportunity comes in the form of fishing. With plenty of fishing spots available in both Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach (both available in the early game), you can continually fish and catch fish that can individually sell for up to 600-800 Star Coins.

This can similarly be enhanced if you assign a friend with the Fishing Role and get them to hang out with you as you fish, earning additional fish with most reels. There is even a way to automate this relatively early on.

Unlock Moana’s Realm and bring her back to the village, and after a few of her quests, a questline will eventually appear for her titled “Fixing the Boat”.

Complete this quest to create a permanent location on Dazzle Beach where Moana will deliver fish she catches, up to a limit, that you can then collect and do with as you please. Then, should you want to sell these fish, you essentially have a money-making machine without having to do anything!
