How to Convert Table to Image in Word?

By Saving as Picture

This is a simple and effective way to convert table to image in Word.

• First, open the Word document and go to the table which you want to convert as an image.

• Select the entire table by clicking on the four-sided arrow on the top-left corner of the table.

• Right-click on the table and click on Copy. You can also use the keyboard shortcut key Ctrl + C. Or, if you want to just convert the table as an image and remove the original table, you can click on Cut (Ctrl + X).

• Now, open a new Word document or place the cursor in another place in the same document where you want to insert the image.

• Right-click on the destination and select the Paste Special option: Picture (U).

• There is another way to paste the table as a picture. First, place the cursor in the destination cell. Navigate to Home. Click on the dropdown from Paste in the Clipboard section and select Picture (U).

• This pastes the table as an image in the destination.

• You can see that when you paste the table as an image in Word, you cannot modify it or edit it like a table.

• Now, right-click on the table which is pasted as an image and select Save as Picture.

• This opens the Save as Picture dialog box.

• Choose the destination to save the file and rename the image if necessary. From the Save as type dropdown, choose the format of the image. You can choose any of the options from the six image formats given in the dropdown depending on your preferences and needs.

Note: The most widely used image file formats are .jpg and .png file formats as they are supported by every application. The .gif format is also common but they are mostly used to portray short videos without audio.

• Select the file format and click Save.

• This saves the table as the image in the desired location.

• Now, you can navigate to the location of the file and attach the image for future use.

By Taking a Screenshot

This is an easy way of converting almost anything to an image. You can use the built-in snipping tool to carve the table out and convert it to an image.

• To take a screenshot of the table, first, navigate to the Word document which houses the table.

• In the Start menu, search for the Snipping Tool application. This app is available in every Microsoft Windows operating system.

• Open the application. It can be seen as a small floating window hovering over your main application.

• Click on New. Or, you can use the keyboard shortcut Windows + Shift + S to start snipping.

• Once you click on New, a frozen window appears. Now, draw the required shape by holding the left mouse button.

• Once you leave the mouse button, the snip opens in an editor window. Here, you can add any marking and highlights, and even crop the image as per your requirements.

• To save the image, click on the Save button.

• This in turn opens the Save As dialog box. Rename the file, choose the location and the format of the file, and click on Save.

• This saves the table as an image in the selected destination.

By Inserting as an Object

This is a rarely used method to convert table to image in Word, which in some cases proves to be helpful.

• First, copy and paste the table onto a new Word document and save it.

• Now, open a new document.

• Navigate to the Insert tab. Under the Text section, click on Object.

• This opens the Object dialog box. Select the Create from file tab and click on Browse. Navigate to the file location, select the file, and click Open.

• Click OK.

• This inserts the table as an Object.

• Now, right-click on the Object and click on Copy.

• Then, open another document or place the cursor in a different location in the same document. Right-click and select Paste Special: Picture (U).

Now, you can right-click on the image and click on Save as Picture to save the table.
