How to catch Pokémon #647 Keldeo in Pokémon GO (2024)
Keldeo is Pokémon number 647 in the PokéDex of Pokémon GO. It is a Mythic Pokémon available through events and Special Research. In this Pokémon GO guide, we tell you how to catch Keldeo. Let's get started:
How to capture Keldeo in Pokémon GO? Where does it appear?
Keldeo is available to all Pokémon GO players with the paid Special Investigation called Something Extraordinary. Players who complete it will have the chance to be able to capture Keldeo, a Mythic Pokémon.
Something Extraordinary is a Special Investigation that was added to Pokémon GO on December 10, 2022; it is added to our list of Special Investigations for logging into Pokémon GO only on December 10th,2022, and on December 11th, 2022 if we purchase the event ticket, which is worth $9.99 or the equivalent in our local currency. Something Extraordinary will remain active until we complete all the tasks it asks us to perform.
At the end of the fifth phase of the Something Extraordinary tasks, we will encounter Keldeo. And, as with all other Special Research and Mythical Pokémon encounters, it's impossible to miss. This is, for now, the only way we have to get Keldeo in Pokémon GO: by completing its paid Special Investigation. If at some point any more events are added that allow us to catch Keldeo in Pokémon GO, we will update this guide and give you all the details.
Keldeo is Pokémon 647 and one of the four Mythical Pokémon of the Fifth Generation. The other Mythical Pokémon of this Generation of the games are Victini, Meloetta, and Genesect.

The problem here is that this particular Special Research story, Something Extraordinary, was only available to purchase from the in-game shop during December 2022, and there's been no way to get Keldeo since. Mythical creatures usually reappear eventually, but as it stands, Keldeo is one of the rarest.
Tickets will be available to purchase this Special Research story leading to an encounter with Keldeo in its Ordinary Form from Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, December 11, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
So, the Mythic Blades event is here, and as part of it, Keldeo is being released, but only sort of. Only to those who buy an USD$7.99 ticket (or your local equivalent), via special research.
Approach the pot, open the Pokemon Camp, and cook a curry. It doesn't matter what kind. Once you break camp, Keldeo will spawn on the island. You can now switch out the Swords of Justice if you don't want to use them in battle.
Before you can find Keldeo in the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield, you must first catch the other members of the Swords of Justice quartet - Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion in your team. Once you've done that you need to head to Ballimere Lake in the southern region of the Crown Tundra.

A Legendary Pokémon will soon arrive in Pokémon Sleep. Look for Raikou in March 2024, and then prepare for Entei and Suicune to follow later. There's also a log-in bonus happening now where players can collect a gift of Poké Biscuits and Diamonds.
Keldeo is a secret encounter in Pokemon Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra DLC. To obtain Keldeo, you'll first need to have caught all three Swords of Justice Pokemon - Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion by investigating their footprints for Professor Sonia.
Though a slow walker, Mudbray is plenty strong. Its pace doesn't change even when it's loaded with 50 times its own body weight. This Pokémon covers itself in mud that it has regurgitated. The mud won't dry out even if it's exposed to the sun for a long time.
In Keldeo's case, the Water/Fighting-type Mythic Pokemon is only accessible via the Something Extraordinary research story, which mandates the purchase of a ticket. While Keldeo may be made available through other means in the future, this isn't guaranteed.
For US$7.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you'll be able to pick up the exclusive Special Research story, Something Extraordinary, during the weekend.
The best strategy is to attach a Pokemon GO Lure Module to a PokeStop or Gym with Windy Weather and activate the Daily Adventure Incense. After that, all one has to do is keep walking around that specific Gym or PokeStop. Once players encounter the Galarian Bird trio, they need to catch the Pocket Monsters.
Regarding Skiddo, it experiences a spawn boost around areas with sunny weather. One can use the already boosted spawn rate of Skiddo during the City Safari event and Shiny hunt in areas with sunny weather to further increase its spawn rate.
Pokemon GO players might encounter wild Shiny Ponyta and Shiny Galarian Ponyta during featured events. In-game events, like the Ponyta & Galarian Ponyta Community Day, feature Shiny Ponyta and Shiny Galarian Ponytas either as wild spawns, raid clearance, Research task reward, or all of them.
