In order to begin the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC, there are several things you need to do first. This is not free DLC, but rather, the second half of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion, so it must be purchased. We’ve outlined the exact steps you’ll need to access The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Access the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC
A very quick step-by-step guide is up first, but keep scrolling if you need more details. First and foremost, however, you need to have both finished the Treasure Hunt main story of the main game AND have finished the The Teal Mask DLC.
- Make sure Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet is updated to Ver. 3.0.0
- Purchase and download the DLC
- Update Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet again
- Professor Clavell will call you once you finish the main story and The Teal Mask DLC
- Head to the Academy, but DO NOT go to Clavell’s office as he says; instead, in the lobby speak to a man you see there with a white suit and hat

1. Update Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
To quickly find the DLC, make sure Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet are updated. You can check this by pressing + on the game tile in the main Nintendo Switch menu and looking for updates.
2. Purchase and Download the DLC
You can open the Nintendo eShop from the Nintendo Switch main menu to find the DLC, or you can open your copy of Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet. From there, open the menu andconnect to the internet by pressing L. You should see a "Downloadable Content" button on the bottom right. Click it to be taken to the eShop page to purchase the DLC.
The Indigo Disk DLC comes in the bundle, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, which also includes The Teal Mask DLC. You cannot purchase them separately and they can be purchased for $34.99 on the eShop. Also, be sure to purchase the one specific to your version of the game.
In order to download the DLC once you purchase it, you may need to close your copy of Pokemon. Any games connected to the internet will interrupt the download.
3. Close the Game and Update Pokemon Again
Once the download is complete, an update should automatically apply to your Pokemon Scarlet or Violet copy, enabling the DLC. You will need to close the game if it's running in order for it to take effect.
4. Once Conditions Are Met, Director Clavell Will Call You

Once you download the entire DLC if you hadn’t purchased it before, you need to finish both the main story and The Teal Mask DLC. Upon completion of both of these things, you’ll receive a phone call from Director Clavell about you being named as an exchange student at Blueberry Academy.
About Level Scaling (Or Not)
Unlike in The Teal Mask, which can be completed before or after the main story and scales the levels of Pokemon whether you’ve done so or not, The Indigo Disk is for sure endgame content and reportedly does not scale at all. Wild Pokemon will be in the high 50s-early 60s while trainer battle Pokemon will be slightly higher. Make sure you’re prepared!
5. Head to the Academy, Speak to the Man in White
Even though Clavell said to meet him in his office, your real objective is to speak to the man standing in the lobby of the school with the all white suit, dapper white hat with blue trim, and his back to you. You’ll learn very quickly that this is Director Cyrano from the Blueberry Academy.
After a slight misunderstanding with Clavell, you simply need to speak to Cyrano again and you’ll jettison off to Blueberry Academy (in Unova, apparently) for The Indigo Disk DLC!
When you're ready to head to Blueberry Academy, be sure to use our Indigo Disk full walkthrough to make it through the tough study sessions!
