How long will my transfer take? Your transfer will reach your bank by the end of the next working day after you make your request.

How long will it take for the money to come through? If you pay in your deposit using a debit card, it should show in your bank account the same day. Cash deposits tend to take longer, so you can expect to see it in your account the next working day. ² It can vary from bank to bank though.

Funds deposited electronically or by cash are generally available by the business day after the banking day they were deposited. Review your deposit account agreement for policies specific to your bank and your account.

Bank to bank transfer times can vary across financial institutions depending on the type of transfer you make. If you're making a traditional inter-bank transfer it will take 1-3 business days. If you use NPP Faster Payments or a PayID it can be near real-time.

An ACH transfer, or automated clearing house transfer, will usually take one to four business days to appear in a recipient's account. It can often take longer, an average of three to four days, because both the sending and receiving banks need time to process the request.

The role of business days and holidays

If you deposit cash, that money goes directly to your account and will be ready for you to use immediately. But for checks and other items that might need verification (to protect you and the bank), the money usually won't be available until the next business day.

As a result, most bank transfers are instantaneous, although in some cases, payment can take up to two hours. It's important to remember that while Faster Payments aims to provide you with these types of bank transfer times, there's no guarantee that your payment will be cleared on the same day.

Generally, a bank must make funds deposited by cash in person to a bank employee available for withdrawal by the next business day after the banking day on which the cash is deposited.

Cash App offers standard transfers to your bank account and Instant transfers to your linked debit card. Standard transfers are free and arrive within 1-3 business days. Instant transfers are subject to a 0.5% -1.75% fee (with a minimum fee of $0.25) and arrive instantly to your debit card.
