How long does it take for my payment to process? ›

It generally takes one to five business days for a credit card payment to post to your account. Your payment may even be credited to your account before it posts. In other words, your card issuer may acknowledge receipt of the payment before the transaction is fully processed.

Credit and debit card transactions are often processed instantly, but funds can take a few days to clear. ACH or Direct Debit transactions typically take 1-3 business days, while wire transfers are usually processed the same day.

Most merchants do this within a day or two of the date you made the payment. Some do take longer. You'll see details of that payment on your account after 8.30am on the day after we receive them from the merchant.

Payments to customers at other banks

The time your payment is received will depend on when the other bank processes that payment. If you make a payment after 11:55pm, the money will be taken from your account as soon as you've made it. We'll then send the payment to the other bank shortly after 9am the next day.
