A typical paintball field requires a marker to be speed tested at a chronograph before being allowed on the field and generally they like to keep players from getting hurt so the standard speed is anywhere between 240 and 280 feet per second (fps) (163 - 190 mph).
How long does 500 rounds last ? For our Traditional Paintball and Low Impact Paintball we have found that 500 rounds of paint last approximately two - two and a half hours.
How Many Paintballs do I need? The average player will shoot about 100 paintballs every 2-3 games. Games last about 20 minutes each. Players can expect to shoot 200-400 paintballs in an average outing depending on how trigger-happy you are.
How Long Do 100 Paintballs Last? 100 paintballs can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours, depending on your playstyle. Trigger-happy players will blast through their paintballs, while conservative players make every shot count.

Paintball is usually sub-300 fps (feet per second) which is an international standard. Airsoft fields set their own limits but most guns fire at between 300-500 fps. Don't let the higher fps of an Airsoft gun scare you though.
Safe velocity is between 220 and 280 FPS. Paintball goggles are rated to withstand 300FPS and paintballs themselves are made to shoot optimally between the same ranges. There is never a reason for a paintball gun to be shooting higher than 300FPS - but it can happen.
All hits count, including gun hits. If a paintball hits you and bounces off, you are a clean player, play on. If you called "OUT", then realized the paintball bounced, you are still out.
The average paintball player uses approximately 200 paintballs per hour of play. You can adjust this number depending on your mood and level of competitiveness. If you need to get out some aggressions, you can estimate to add about 100 more. If you want to relax more and just have fun, you can subtract 100.
The pain will range from 'similar to being snapped by an elastic band' to 'getting stung by a bee', and the worst you'll get is a small bruise or welt, nothing too dramatic so long as you stick to the rules.
As a general rule, most sites will let you bring your own paintball equipment but they won't let you bring your own paintballs. Sites supply the paintballs because they need to ensure they've been kept in the right conditions before they're shot.
Carry some antifog spray and a soft, microfiber cloth for when your mask becomes fogged when playing in the rain. Playing paintball in the rain is fun and exciting! Cooler weather enables players to dress in layers of clothing which help lessen the sting when hit with a paintball. Avoid slippery sloped maps.
Paintballs are perishable goods, i.e. they have an intended life span, they are made of biodegradable components that are intended to break down over time. Lukcily, if stored correctly, that shelf life can be very long.
For a two-hour session, you can expect to use around 200 paintballs. However, this can vary. Remember, our 90-minute session with 300 paintballs is designed to give you a fulfilling experience across three games, balancing fun and practicality.
Paintball is usually sub-300 fps (feet per second) which is an international standard. Airsoft fields set their own limits but most guns fire at between 300-500 fps. Don't let the higher fps of an Airsoft gun scare you though.
