After signing into RBC Online Banking go to “Pay Bills & Transfer Funds” or the “Account Details” for any of your accounts. On the right side of the screen click on “Register for Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit”. Add your email address and indicate the account you want the funds deposited to.

If you were expecting an Interac e-Transfer but didn't receive it, check your spam folders or contact the sender to make sure they have the correct email address. If the sender uses an email that you've registered for Autodeposit, the transfer is processed immediately and cannot be reversed.

If the recipient declines the Interac e-Transfer, the sender will receive an email and/or text notification that the Interac e-Transfer was declined. The funds should be deposited back into the sender's account automatically. You entered an invalid e-mail address of the recipient or the transfer was incomplete.

Sign in to Online Banking. On the right-hand side of the Accounts Summary page, select Payment History. Select the Interac e-Transfer that you want to reclaim. Select Cancel Payment and follow the on-screen instructions to reclaim the transfer.

Interac e-Transfer is not available in the United States but it is possible to send money from a Canadian bank to the U.S. via Interac's partnership with MasterCard and Western Union.

You can send money internationally in for easy steps: Log In: Log in to online or mobile banking. Select “Send Money” > International: Select the recipient's destination and banking information.

You will receive messages in your Online Banking Message Centre advising the status of any Interac e-Transfer you've sent, including if it has not been claimed or has expired. You can also check the status at any time by selecting the hyperlinked confirmation number on the Payment History page.

Currently, RBC's daily limit for sending and receiving e-transfers and direct deposit is a maximum of $5,000 per day. This is the amount of money that can be processed in total on any business day, meaning that you can't send multiple separate e-transfer payments of $5,000 in one day.

RBC e-Transfers generally take no more than 60 seconds to complete. If the transfer does not come in after a minute, there might be a problem with the internet connection or with the transaction details. If you're not an RBC customer and don't have an account with the bank, the transfer could take longer.

Interac e-Transfers that have not been successfully accepted by the recipient will be listed as Pending e-Transfers. Once the transaction has been completed (accepted, declined, cancelled or redeposited), it will no longer display in the pending tab but it will remain in the Interac e-Transfer History section.

Is there a limit to how much I can send in an Interac e-Transfer? Yes. Your Interac e-Transfer send limit is based on your client card's daily access limit.
