How do I contact someone directly on Airbnb? ›

When you have a confirmed reservation, your Host's phone number will be in the message thread for your trip. You can send them a message or open the Airbnb app and call them.

Start a request within 72 hours

If you still need to cancel your reservation during your stay, we can help you start a request to resolve the issue with your Host. When you do this, you can choose to ask your Host to fix the problem, request a partial refund, or request to cancel your reservation for a full refund.

Get help from Airbnb to resolve the issue

Click or tap Get Help from the reservation page. Someone from our team will step in to help resolve the issue. If we find that it's an issue that's supported by AirCover for guests, we'll help you find a similar place, depending on availability at comparable pricing.

Canceling a guest's reservation can have serious implications for their trip, so we may impose fees and other consequences. We will waive the fees and, in some cases, the other consequences, if the Host cancels because of a Major Disruptive Event or certain valid reasons beyond the Host's control.

You do have to be logged in to your Airbnb account to read or send messages. Getting in touch with a Host starts a message thread you can go back to, and once you've taken that first step, your Messages help you keep all your communication organized for all your trips.

You can use our Resolution Center within 60 days of your reservation's checkout date to request or send money for things related to your Airbnb trip. It helps to have any photos or other relevant evidence ready when you submit a Resolution Center request.

Does Airbnb take complaints seriously? ›

If the neighbor reports your Airbnb listing, Airbnb will then evaluate the situation and contact the host of the listing. Apart from that, Airbnb will conduct a follow-up investigation and if required, communicate back to the neighbor.

Is there a way to access the resolution center from the app? Click on the guest page, the reservation detail sections of “ send or request money”. The resolution centre page will pop up in the Airbnb App.

You can still message the Host ahead of time with any questions.

You're more than welcome to contact a Host at any time. Sometimes, you'll have to – other times, it's simply a good idea. Unless you've found an Instant Book listing, you'll have to request that the Host accept your stay.

Once a booking is confirmed, Airbnb automatically reveals the registered phone number of guest and host, and they can freely share any other details after this point. Remember, it is advisable to communicate only via Airbnb and use phone number just in case of emergencies.
