Make fee-free global transfers

Whether it's to pay a home loan, fund an education, support family outside the UK or something else, you can make free Global Transfers between your HSBC Premier or Advance accounts in eligible countries^{1Footnote link 1Footnote link 1} in seconds.

How long does a Global Money Transfer take? Our standard transfer time for payments made to non-HSBC accounts through the mobile banking app is 1 to 3 days. For selected currencies and destinations, faster payment times are available.

You can send up to USD200,000 (or currency equivalent) a day. Some countries may have local limit restrictions. Check with your destination country for limit information. Accounts eligible for Global Transfers include all HSBC deposit accounts, except for CDs.

Global Money Transfers can be made between eligible HSBC and non-HSBC accounts worldwide in participating countries/territories subject to the availability of supported currencies. Global Money Transfers to other banks may take longer.

Global payment / transfer limits

'Daily cross-border transfer master limit' is a daily master limit of up to HKD3,000,000 or equivalent covering all global payments / transfers[@transfer-and-payment-payeelimit-gbawmc] via HSBC HK App and Online Banking.

HSBC credit cards don't charge foreign transaction fees. However, if you use your HSBC Debit Mastercard® card, you may be charged a fee for any purchases abroad. This includes international payments made online.

OFX. OFX does not charge any fees, and the exchange rate is less than 1%, but all transfers must occur within bank accounts, and it typically takes two to four days for your recipient to get the money. The company can transfer money to over 170 countries or 50-plus currencies. The minimum amount of a transfer is $150.

All HSBC accounts are viewable within Global View. Global View and Global Transfers are only available for HSBC Premier and existing HSBC Advance clients and are not available in all countries. Foreign currency exchange rates and local country limitations may apply.
