In Genshin Impact's Fontaine expansion, players can look forward to acquiring many new characters and weapons and exploring new areas. Version 4.1 introduces Neuvillette, the Iudex of Fontaine and leader of the Marechaussee Phantom. Alongside playing a significant role in the Fontaine Archon Quest story, Neuvillette is also a formidable character capable of dealing significant damage when properly built.

Neuvillette's primary source of DPS in Genshin Impact is his charged attacks, with his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst abilities typically used to enhance the power of these charged attacks. Players should aim for weapons that increase his DPS output, such as those providing Crit Damage, Crit Rate, HP stats, or boosting Charged Attack DMG. If such options are not available, an Energy Recharge focused weapon can also be viable for him.
7 Ballad of the Boundless Blue
- Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: Within 6s after Normal or Charged Attacks hit an opponent, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 12%. Max 3 stacks. Can occur once every 0.3s.
Ballad of the Boundless Blue is a new weapon introduced during the main event of the version 4.1 update. While it's a time-limited weapon, it provides a viable free-to-play option for Neuvillette, even though it may not offer the same level of damage increase as other options. This weapon allows Neuvillette to frequently activate his Elemental Burst while also boosting his Normal Attack and Charged Attack damage. Since the weapon is available with max refinement, players can fully utilize its effects to enhance Neuvillette's performance.
6 Kagura's Verity
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 66.2% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: Gains the Kagura Dance effect when using an Elemental Skill, causing the Elemental Skill DMG of the character wielding this weapon to increase by 12% for 16s. Max 3 stacks. This character will gain 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus when they possess 3 stacks.
Kagura's Verity can serve as a viable option for Neuvillette, especially as a stat-stick due to its high Crit DMG secondary stat. Additionally, Neuvillette can achieve maximum stacks for the weapon's conditional effect, which provides an Elemental DMG Bonus. However, this requires a specific rotation and may not always be easy to maintain.
Since Kagura's Verity is a limited-time 5-star rarity gacha weapon, players might consider it if they have a spare copy. Nonetheless, there are other options that perform similarly with less investment or are entirely free to play. As such, it may not be the best choice for Neuvillette, especially when there are characters like Yae Miko who can make better use of it.
5 Jadefall's Splendor
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 49.6% HP
- R1 Effect: For 3s after using an Elemental Burst or creating a shield, the equipping character can gain the Primordial Jade Regalia effect: Restore 4.5 Energy every 2.5s, and gain 0.3% Elemental DMG Bonus for their corresponding Elemental Type for every 1,000 Max HP they possess, up to 12%. Primordial Jade Regalia will still take effect even if the equipping character is not on the field.

Jadefall's Splendor is an even better 5-star limited-time gacha weapon option for Neuvillette, especially if players have obtained artifacts that provide a good balance of Crit Rate and Crit DMG. This weapon is highly effective because it not only boosts Neuvillette's HP with its secondary stat, which is beneficial on its own, but also increases his Elemental Burst frequency and enhances his Elemental DMG based on his max HP values. This makes it one of the best 5-star choices for Neuvillette, especially if he has the right artifact setup to complement it.
4 Prototype Amber
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 41.3% HP
- R5 Effect: Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 6 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 6% HP every 2s for this duration.
Prototype Amber, despite being a 4-star weapon, is just as effective as Jadefall's Splendor in terms of damage output. What puts it at a higher ranking it is the fact that it's a completely free-to-play option, while also offering more flexibility and utility for the entire team. Like Jadefall's Splendor, Prototype Amber provides a valuable HP secondary stat and generates Energy for Neuvillette. Additionally, it aids the team in HP regeneration, allowing players to use a shielder like Zhongli and free up a slot for another non-healer support character. This flexibility makes Prototype Amber, especially at full refinement, a great choice for players interested in experimenting with different team compositions without sacrificing survivability.
3 Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is a solid option for Neuvillette because it boosts his Crit Rate and provides an increase in Movement SPD, which can be advantageous since Neuvillette can hover and move during his Charged Attacks. Additionally, it offers Elemental DMG Bonus, which aligns well with his playstyle, since he will be able to deal Hydro DMG with ease. This weapon is from the standard gacha pool, so many players may already have it, making it a worthwhile choice for Neuvillette.
2 Sacrificial Jade
- Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 36.8% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: When not on the field for more than 5s, Max HP will be increased by 32% and Elemental Mastery will be increased by 40. These effects will be canceled after the wielder has been on the field for 10s.
Surprisingly, the newly added catalyst in the Battle Pass for the 4.0 update, Sacrificial Jade, is one of the top contenders for an ideal weapon choice for Neuvillette. Even at R1 without any refinements, Sacrificial Jade outperforms Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, primarily due to its higher Crit Rate and, more significantly, its ability to increase Neuvillette's max HP and Elemental Mastery. However, using Sacrificial Jade requires a more precise team composition and rotation, as players will need to swap Neuvillette out every 10 seconds to refresh off-field effects from other characters within 5 seconds. To maximize its benefits, players should consider using characters like Zhongli, Kazuha, and an Electro character like Fischl to create an effective Taser composition that suits Neuvillette's playstyle quite well with this option.
1 Tome Of The Eternal Flow
- Primary Stat: 542 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 88.2% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: HP is increased by 16%. When current HP increases or decreases, Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 14% for 4s. Max 3 stacks, can be triggered once every 0.3s. When you have 3 stacks or refresh a third stack's duration, 8 Energy will be restored. This Energy restoration effect can be triggered once every 12s.
Neuvillette's signature weapon, Tome Of The Eternal Flow, is without a doubt the best option for him, offering a substantial increase in his damage potential compared to other weapons. This catalyst provides a high Crit DMG bonus, boosts his HP, increases Charged ATK DMG, and restores energy under conditions that Neuvillette can easily fulfill on his own. Overall, Tome Of The Eternal Flow offers everything he needs to become a highly effective DPS character.
