The DCIM ("Digital Camera Images") folder is the default folder where all photos are stored in your phone's internal storage. You can access it either through "My Files," as shown in the steps in the image I've attached.
You may also view your photos through your Gallery, which makes it easy to adjust the size of the icons, search by date, or even click on the magnifying glass to search for specific people, things, scenery, foods, etc.
You can create subfolders in the DCIM folder to find photos easier. These subfolders will appear as Albums in your Gallery. Synonymously, if you create a new Album in your Gallery, it will appear as a subfolder in your DCIM folder.
In addition, third-party photo or video applications you download may also automatically create their own folder within the DCIM folder as well.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
From the Home screen, tap Apps > Gallery . Open Gallery from the Camera application by tapping the thumbnail image in the lower right corner of the screen.
If your photos are visible in My Files but are not in the Gallery app, these files may be set as hidden. This prevents Gallery and other apps from scanning for media. To solve this, you can change the option for showing hidden files.
nomedia in the particular folder, which when scanned by the system, doesn't show the media stored in that directory. Delete the . nomedia file if you want the media files to be displayed in your gallery. You might first want to enable the show hidden files option in your file manager first.
To find the My Files folder, search using the app search or in the default Samsung folder on your apps screen. My Files sorts your files into categories, such as Images, Videos, Audio and Downloads. If you have recently downloaded a file and are trying to locate it, tap "Downloads" to access or delete the file.
Instead you have to go to “Library” tab then locate your circle in “Photos on device” section above (you might need to tap “View all” to see all folders). Another way is to use “Files” app and just locate the media files in {Internal Storage}/Pictures/PhotoCircle/{CircleName}.
As far as Photos go, the easiest way I have found is going into Files> (it's in the Samsung Folder for me) selecting Images > Selecting all > Clicking Move at the bottom (then folders appear at the top. Click on the location and SD card should appear click that and then click "Move Here".
Still, some of the photos or albums disappeared from the gallery on Android. Worry not as the issue can be with the cache files of the gallery app. Whenever an app runs on your phone, it generates temporary files called cache. This data can accumulate over with and potentially make the gallery app malfunction.
In all the Android phones, the “backup & restore” function is present to help you. All you have to do is open the “Settings” and scroll down to find “cloud and accounts” or “backup and reset”, etc. This will fix your gallery pictures disappear problem and you will be able to get your pictures back.
If you're unable to locate your images in the Gallery, then please tap the Home button > Swipe up from your Home screen > Samsung (folder) > My Files > Images, and check to see if the images are intact in this location.
To create a new album, tap the Albums tab at the bottom.Tap Add (the plus sign) at the top.Tap Album, then enter the name of the album, and then tap Create.
