Charity and donations have always been believed to be very sacred to Hindu culture. Hindu scriptures say that making one should make donations according to one’s status. It also describes the benefits earned from Daan Karma. The Karma doctrine gives importance to charity and the earnings from it accompany the person to their next life as well.
We often hear the elders in our families tell us about the divine results of Daan karma. They narrate many legends of King Karna who is praised for his selfless charity. We are often advised to follow his path. We should always donate some part of our wealth and earnings to needy people.
But many times people donate even without being fully aware of the rituals. We donate things which should be avoided on certain days and this impacts our lives negatively.
Scriptures have described the donations of different things from salt to sugar on each day of the week. It also tells us about the fruitful outcomes when you donate a particular thing on a particular day.
Donations for Monday
God Shiva and Chandra Dev are associted with this day. Things which are white in colour like flowers, clothes, sugar, coconut and rice should be donated on this day. This brings the grace of Shiva into an individual’s life and also improves the lunar planets in horoscopes.
Donations for Tuesday
Tuesday is the day of Lord Hanuman. One should donate red flowers, saffron clothes, red sandalwood, and almonds on this day.
Donations for Wednesday
Green-coloured items are believed to be the best things to be donated on this day. The Donation of Moong dal, green clothes and green bangles will bring you good fortune.
Donations for Thursday
Donating yellow-coloured items on this day brings you auspicious benefits. One can donate yellow lentils, jaggery, yellow fruits and gold items among others.
Donations for Friday
Donations made on this day will please Goddess Lakshmi. One can donate white Saari, Salt, Kheer and saffron.
Donations for Saturday
Planet Shani can be pacified by donating black items on this day. To get divine grace from Lord Shani, black sesame, and mustard oil should be donated.
Donations for Sunday
This day is auspicious for Sun God who is believed to bring good fortunes. Wheat, red flowers and ruby should be donated on Sunday.
