Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (2024)

Here in 2022, there are a lot of ways to go fast. But absurd speed isn't just for supercar and sports car owners anymore. Many companies now offer performance SUVs – the quickest of which we've compiled on our fastest SUVs story – and a handful of those same brands even have performance pickup trucks, too.

You’re probably already familiar with fast factory trucks like the Ford Raptor and Ram TRX. But our definitive ranking of the fastest trucks available in 2022 also includes aftermarket options from specialists like Hennessey and Shelby American, with some of those options offering hypercar-esque amounts of power. There are even three modern EVs represented too.

So we’ve put together the definitive list of the fastest production and aftermarket trucks on the market today, using 0-60 times to determine which ones are quickest. If you're in the market for something with stupid straight-line speed, but all the same towing and hauling capabilities you expect from a truck, maybe one of these pickups is right for you.

Production Trucks

2023 Nissan Frontier

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (1)

0-60: 7.9 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 310
Torque: 281 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Nissan thoroughly updated the Frontier for the 2022 model year, which included a much-needed redesign. However, the engine, a 3.8-liter V6 remained the same. Nissan introduced it in 2020, and it makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque in the stylish pickup. However, the powertrain is a bit anemic compared to the other production pickups on this list, which are much quicker than the Nissan.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (2)

0-60: 7.2 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 310
Torque: 420 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Chevrolet updated the Colorado pickup for 2023. The automaker gave the model a thorough redesign, while whittling down the powertrain lineup to one – a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s available in several outputs, with the most powerful tune pumping out 310 horsepower in the ZR2 as standard.

2023 Ram 1500

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (3)

0-60: 6.5 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 395
Torque: 410 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Ram has another, even more powerful truck on this list (you probably know what it is). But the traditional 1500 with the optional eTorque Hemi V8 is pretty quick on its own. That version of the 1500 produces 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet, propelling the hefty truck to 60 miles per hour in an estimated 6.5 seconds in the right spec. The secret is the additional boost that comes from the eTorque feature – which is essentially just a motor/generator attached to the crankshaft that adds additional low-end torque.

2023 Ford Maverick

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (4)

0-60: 6.3 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 250
Torque: 277 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Ford introduced the Maverick as a way to bolster its affordable offerings, and it created quite a compelling truck in the process. It comes standard as a hybrid, pumping out a combined 191 horsepower and returning exceptional fuel economy. However, it’s the more potent 2.0-liter EcoBoost that creates the real power, delivering 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet. Ford doesn't have an official 0-60 time for this truck, but independent testing puts the 60 time at around 6.3 seconds.

2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (5)

0-60 6.3 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 291
Torque: 311 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Hyundai jumped into the pickup truck game with the long-rumored Santa Cruz. It’s a compact pickup that competes with the Ford Maverick (below). It’s available with two powertrains – a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter or a 291-horsepower turbo 2.5-liter, which also pumps out 311 pound-feet of torque. As with the Maverick, Hyundai doesn’t list an official 60 time for the Santa Cruz, but with the more-potent engine equipped, independent testing recorded a 60 time of 6.3 seconds.

2023 Ford Ranger Performance Pack Level 3

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (6)

0-60: 6.1 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 315
Torque: 370 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

The standard Ford Ranger, with its stock 270-horsepower engine, doesn't make the cut. But if you get the Ford Ranger with the Performance Pack, which boosts the output of the turbocharged 2.3-liter engine to 315 horses and 370 pound-feet, the Ranger is actually quite quick. Estimates suggest this truck will get to 60 miles per hour in as little as 6.1 seconds with the optional performance pack. Ford already revealed the 2024 Ranger, which received a major redesign and will introduce the potent Ranger Raptor to the US, which should help it move it up this list.

2023 Toyota Tundra

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (7)

0-60: 6.2 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 389
Torque: 479 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

The 2023 Toyota Tundra is powerful. With a new twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine on the top-end model, the Toyota pickup produces 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Independent testing shows at the Tundra can scoot to 60 miles per hour in at least 6.2 seconds – maybe quicker.

2023 Ford F-150 Raptor

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (8)

0-60: 5.3 Seconds
Horsepower: 450
Torque: 510 LB-FT
Top Speed: 107 MPH

With a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine underhood, this rugged off-road truck can hit 60 miles per hour in about 5.3 seconds. Find a long enough stretch of road, and it ops out at a limited 107 miles per hour. It's also one of the most capable trucks on this list, wearing some of the toughest off-road kit you'll find anywhere. And there's an even more potent Raptor R on the horizon.

2023 Ram 1500 TRX

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (9)

0-60: 4.5 Seconds
Horsepower: 702
Torque: 650 LB-FT
Top Speed: 118 MPH

With 702 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, the new Ram 1500 TRX is the fastest gas-powered production truck on our list. This Hellcat-powered behemoth takes just 4.5 seconds to hit 60, and flat out, the TRX will sprint all the way to 118 miles per hour – even with stock 35-inch off-road tires. Technically this is the fastest factory half-ton you can buy right now… but the TRX is still no match for some of the aftermarket options on this list.

Ford Raptor R

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (10)

0-60: 4.4 Seconds (est.)
Horsepower: 700
Torque: 640 LB-FT
Top Speed: 114 mph

Ford wasn’t going to let Ram have all the glory with its TRX pickup. The Ford Raptor R hides a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, putting it on equal footing with the Ram.

2023 Rezvani Hercules 6x6 Military Edition

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (11)

0-60: N/A
Horsepower: 1,300
Torque: 989 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Rezvani doesn’t officially list a 0-60 time for the Hercules 6x6. However, with up to 1,300 horsepower on tap thanks to a supercharged 7.0-liter V8 engine, one can only assume that this insane pickup is as quick off the line as some of the other performance pickups listed here. The Military Edition adds a host of safety features to the already ridiculous six-wheeled pickup. Goodies include a smoke screen, thermal night vision, electromagnetic pulse protection, electrified door handles, strobe lights, magnetic deadbolts, gas masks, and so much more. The battle-ready off-road pickup starts at $459,000.

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (12)

0-60: 4.4 Seconds
Horsepower: 563
Torque: 775 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

This is the year that Ford electrifies its iconic pickup truck. The F-150 Lightning will go on sale later in just a few months, ferrying the Ford into the future. The Blue Oval took a reserved approach to the truck’s design, targeting traditional truck customers. The company will offer less-powerful variants, but those who want some performance won’t be disappointed with the Lightning with the extended-range battery.

2023 GMC Hummer EV

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (13)

0-60: 3.0 Seconds
Horsepower: 1,000
Torque: 1,200 LB-FT
Top Speed: 106 MPH

General Motors resurrected the Hummer brand, labeled it a GMC, and turned it into an electric pickup truck for 2022. There’s an SUV version coming too, but for now, GMC only offers the pickup and it’s a beast in its top configuration. It sports three electric motors while tipping the scales at an absurd 9,000 pounds. However, all that weight doesn’t slow it down much, making it one of the fastest trucks on this list alongside the Rivian R1T.

2023 Rivian R1T

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (14)

0-60: 3.0 Seconds
Horsepower: 750
Torque: 829 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

There are 16 other hugely powerful gas-powered trucks on this list, both from manufacturers and aftermarket specialists. But the fastest truck of all, which you should start seeing on the road next year, actually uses battery power. The Rivian R1T promises up to 750 horsepower and 829 pound-feet from its 180.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack According to Rivian, that instant torque from the electric motors should be able to propel its truck to 60 miles per hour in 3.0 seconds flat – half a second quicker than the next-best Shelby Super Snake. Of course, these are still just projections and we'll have to wait until the Rivian R1T officially hits the road.

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (17)

0-60: 4.2 Seconds
Horsepower: 600
Torque: 622 LB-FT
Top Speed: 110+ Miles Per hour

As if the stock Ford F-150 Raptor weren't quick enough, Hennessey has an upgrade package that boosts the output to 600 horsepower – up from the factory’s 450 horses. The upgrades include a high-flow air induction system, a front-mounted intercooler upgrade, and a new exhaust system, which boosts the power figure and gives the Hennessey Raptor absurd straight-line speed. This truck will sprint to 60 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and on to a quarter-mile time of 12.1 seconds.

SVE Sierra Sport Edition Off-Road

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (18)

0-60: N/A
Horsepower: 800
Torque: 720 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

SVE has upgraded the 2023 GMC Sierra with an off-road package that does more than add some ground clearance. The 6.2-liter V8 comes with a supercharger to make 800 horsepower. SVE cranks out all that power with a forged twisted steel crankshaft and forged aluminum pistons. The aftermarket specialist also upgraded the cylinder heads and added a custom stainless steel exhaust system.

Roush Ford F-150 Nitemare

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (19)

0-60: 3.9 Seconds
Horsepower: 650
Torque: 610 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

The Roush F-150 Nitemare lives up to its name with a scary 650 horsepower and 610 pound-feet, and the ability to hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds. The secret to all that power is the new supercharged 5.0-liter V8 under the hood. The Roush F-150 Nitemare also gets custom features like new 22-inch wheels and better rubber to help cope with all that newfound power. If you want one, it will cost you an extra $19,150 on top of the price of a standard Ford F-150.

SVE Chevrolet Silverado Yenko/SC

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (20)

0-60: N/A
Horsepower: 800
Torque: 720 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

SVE's 750-horsepower Syclone is only one of two super-fast trucks the specialty shop produces. The Yenko/SC Chevrolet Silverado pumps out 800 horsepower and 720 pound-feet, courtesy of a supercharged 5.3-liter V8, and comes in both rear- and four-wheel-drive configurations. Much like the Syclone, SVE promises just 50 examples of the truck for the 2021 model year.

Hennessey Jeep Gladiator Maximus

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (21)

0-60: 3.9 Seconds
Horsepower: 1,000
Torque: 993 LB-FT
Top Speed: N/A

Even though Hennessey has absurdly quick Raptors and Silverados, the fastest truck that the company currently builds is actually the Jeep Gladiator. Dubbed the Maximus, this 1,000-horsepower Jeep gets a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 swap as well as an HPE 1000 ECU upgrade. But it will cost you: Hennessey asks $225,000 for the Jeep Gladiator Maximus. At least that price includes the cost of a new Gladiator.

Hennessey Ford F-150 Venom 775

Fastest Pickup Trucks In The World For 2023 (22)

0-60: 3.9 Seconds
Horsepower: 775
Torque: 685 LB-FT
Top Speed: 116+ Miles Per Hour

Even though the F-150 Raptor is the most powerful truck that Ford produces, Hennessey has a version of the standard F-150 that's even quicker than the company's tuned Raptor. The F-150 Venom 775, as its name suggests, produces 775 horsepower from a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a 2.9-liter high-flow supercharger affixed. This truck will hit 60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds flat and conquer the quarter-mile in just 12.1 seconds at 116 miles per hour.
