Farid Yazdani graduated in 2011 and can be seen playing David Green on USA's seriesSuits. We caught up with Farid to find out what else he's been up to.
What are you currently working on?
I’ve recently booked a recurring guest role onSuits. The role is literally a dream come true. I’ve always had a 5 year plan and the last item on my list for year four was to book a recurring role. Originally the role was suppose to be one episode, but, luckily for me, production liked my character and decided to bring me back for 2 more. Working with the cast was seamless and easy. They’re all super talented and very supportive. What I’m most proud of was booking a role that would normally have been cast as a Caucasian. Major props toSuitsfor being inclusive and casting "colour blind." Hopefully they decide to bring David Green back for season 6!
I’ve also been working on my passion project for the last few years,Day Players. I produced, co-wrote and star in the film, a Comedy/Drama about a group of rather clichéactors who are struggling to make ends meet in this dog-eat-dog business. Funnily enough, the idea for the show came to me in Allan Guttman’s improv class when my classmate, Julian Robino, and I performed a scene about 2 actors meeting up in an audition waiting room after years of graduating.

What other interesting projects have you worked on since leaving Humber?
I’ve also been a guest star onMy Babysitter's a Vampire, XIII: The Seriesand most recentlyOdd Squad. In 2013 I produced a sold out run ofGlengarry Glen Rossat The Lower Ossington Theatre Directed by Humber's very own Christina Collins.
How did your time at Humber prepare you for what you’re doing now?
All the classes were super helpful and prepared me for the “outside world”. Learning the business aspect of acting with Christina Collins prepped me to be able to produce my own work;Michael Caruana’s class helped me find my first agent and gave me the confidence I needed going into the audition room;Viv allowed me to be comfortable in my own skin;John, Maria, Dixie, Alan and Sheila gave me the foundation to succeed as an actor and develop my acting chops. The faculty and range of classes Humber provides, I can say without bias, is second to none.
