FAQ (2024)

  • There are so many teeth-whitening kits on the market, what makes Advanced Whitening the best?

    Great question!

With so many teeth-whitening options on the market now, it can be hard to determine which ones deliver the best results.

Advanced Whitening is an Australian-owned business that has been whitening teeth for over 10 years and have done extensive research into teeth whitening formulas and products during this time. As a result, we know what works and how to get the best results, and our experience has enabled us to create a product that's superior to anything else on the market.

Our whitening gel ingredients provide safe and fast results. The LED blue spectrum light activates and accelerates our gel and is the same quality light that’s used by dentists, so you can feel confident that our teeth whitening kits will get you dentist-quality results at home.

Our whitening Kits contain three simple-to-use teeth whitening pens that allow you to apply the gel directly onto your teeth. The pen application means there’s no gel wastage or mess, and allows you to evenly coat your teeth to get the best result.

  • How long does it take to start seeing results?

Everyone's teeth are different and there are many factors that can all impact the time taken to see results with our Kits. Many of our customers achieve a noticeable difference in colour immediately after the first application! For others, it can take up to 4 weeks.

Genetics play a huge part in the composition of the teeth, and just like skincare product might work for one person and not for another, it is the same for the teeth.

  • Is Advanced Whitening safe?

Yes, Advanced Whitening products are completely safe. All of our teeth whitening gels are manufactured in the USA, in ISO-9000 compliant facilities (not in China). All our products are compliant with FDA, ACCC and Australian Dental Association standards, so you can rest assured, your teeth are in good hands.

  • What ingredients are in the gel?

Our most popular peroxide based gel contains specially formulated ingredients: hydrogen peroxide, glycerine, carbomer, peppermint oil, and triethanolamine. It is recommended by dentists and is the safest, most effective choice for at-home teeth whitening.

Our peroxide-free gel is PAP based and contains: Sorbitol, Water, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Phthalimidoperoxyhexanoic Acid, PEG-8, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Hydroxyapatite, Sodium Bicarbonate, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Xanthan Gum, Saccharin Sodium, DL-Menthol Flavour, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower (Chamomile) Extract, Punica Granatum Seed (Pomegranate) Extract, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

  • I have sensitive teeth, will it hurt?

Some people with sensitive teeth use our Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit and have no sensitivity at all. Beauty blogger, Wellness by Kels has sensitive teeth and has suffered before using other teeth whitening products, but loves the pain-free experience of the Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit –read her review.

If you’re worried about sensitivity, we also recommend using our Enamel Booster. This product is specifically designed to reduce tooth sensitivity by replenishing key minerals and strengthening your tooth enamel, so it’s a very effective product to add into your teeth whitening routine.

  • How often could I - or should I - whiten my teeth?

For your initial treatment, we recommend using your kit every day for five consecutive days. Following this, you should use your kit every couple of weeks as a touch up to maintain their new look.

If you’ve just whitened your teeth with a different teeth whitening brand, it’s best to wait a few weeks before using Advanced Whitening to minimise the risk of sensitivity.

  • Can I use Advanced Whitening if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Teeth whitening is safe for most people, however we don't recommend teeth whitening for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the lack of clinical trials.

  • Are there any side effects associated with Advanced Whitening’s teeth whitening products or teeth whitening kits?

There are no expected side effects to worry about when using Advanced Whitening products. Unlike other teeth whitening products, no significant sensitivity was experienced in our clinical studies and we’ve received only positive feedback from our customers about their experience using Advanced Whitening.

Don't use our products if you're allergic to any of the ingredients, though, and contact your dentist if you experience any issues.

  • Can I use Advanced Whitening’s teeth whitening products if I have veneers or braces?

Yes, all Advanced Whitening’s products are safe to use on healthy natural teeth as well as all man-made dental restorations, so they won’t strip or harm your bonding, veneers, porcelain crowns or other dental work.

Because veneers are a man-made material, Advanced Whitening’s gel will not make the veneer whiter than its original colour, but it will help to restore it to the original colour by cleaning the surface area of stains.

If you're considering getting a crown or veneer, we recommend whitening your teeth before having the material created, so the dentist can match the new tooth to your whiter teeth and the artificial surface won't stand out if you whiten later.

Always consult a dentist for advice on your specific situation if you have any questions or concerns about your teeth specifically.

  • Who should not use teeth whitening products (are there any limitations due to age, pregnancy etc?)

Teeth whitening is safe for most people, however, due to a lack of clinical studies proving its safety, we don’t recommend teeth whitening for:

pregnant or breastfeeding women; children under the age of 12; people who have had recent dental work or oral surgery; or people who have damaged teeth or gums.

If you have any doubt about whether whitening is right for you, please speak with your dentist or doctor.

  • Do you offer refunds?

We offer easy 30 day returns on all our products if you receive it and change your mind or if the products are faulty.

Our Sonic Toothbrush 2.0 comes with a risk-free 30 day trial - if you are not entirely satisfied with your product simply return it to Advanced Whitening for a refund.
