Not many will pit themselves against the God of War, Kratos, who has so far defeated several others, including Ares, Zeus, and Poseidon. On the other hand, the Mad Titan Thanos has had his share of kills that include several Marvel heroes, including a violent ripping of Iron Man in half.
Fans put the two to the test, and the opinions varied, with some of them favoring the God of War while others siding with the Mad Titan. There could be no way to get a definitive answer, but for now, fans have come up with interesting theories.
Kratos From the Original God of War Trilogy Beats Thanos
As mighty as both Thanos and Kratos are, pitting them against each other to get a definitive answer would be an impossible task. A post on Facebook recently brought together close to 2,000 comments as fans tried to justify their choice.
One of the major responses in favor of Kratos was that Kratos from the original trilogy of games would win against Thanos, while Kratos from the recently released games may not be strong enough to win. Others replied to that argument by stating that older Kratos is just holding back his rage, and if he doesn’t pull his punches, older Kratos would also win hands down.
Some of the replies mentioned how Thanos has needed the Infinity Stones to add to his armor to defeat mighty heroes, while Kratos would still win as he’s defeated several gods by himself. As for those who sided with Thanos to win the fight against the God of War himself, there were several justifications while arguing how the comic-accurate Thanos would win the fight hands down.
This Is Why Thanos Beats Kratos Without the Infinity Stones
Those favoring Thanos suggested that the Mad Titan from the comics could end up being far too gruesome for Kratos to beat. In the 2018 comic bookThanos Wins, the storyline had the Avengers launch a desperate final attack on the Mad Titan.
As the title indicates, Thanos ends up being far too strong for the entire team of Avengers, and amid the battle, Iron Man gets ripped in half. Of course, the entire battle is narrated by Frank Castle in the comic, who does his best to stop the deadly premonition from coming true.
This does, however, go on to show why Thanos is named the Mad Titan. Driven by insanity over trying to finally defeat Death itself, Thanos not only acquires all six Infinity Stones but also rampages his way through the Avengers and stands tall over his destruction.
This was the argument given by several fans in the Facebook post: that the Mad Titan based on the comics could just be far too much for the God of War. Kratos, on the other hand, also shouldn’t be discounted, as his Blades of Chaos and his Leviathan Axe have been used to defeat Ares, Odin, and Thor as well.

Who do you think wins in a battle between the two titans? Let us know in the comments below!
If it's in the marvel universe Thanos has the advantage, if it's in the GOW universe Kratos has the advantage there. I'd say take them out of their respective universe and put them on neutral ground.
Kratos is AT LEAST a 100+ tonner, and strong enough to contend with Hulk. Characters on lower levels such as Colossuss, Spiderman, and more have been able to battle with Hulk.. Kratos would be as well regardless if he's physically inferior.
It's entirely possible. The only questionable opponents would be Thor and Hulk, everyone else is doable. He won't be able to beat thor or hulk. tv and movie versions possible, comics no chance.
Now if we're using their current selves, it's an instant loss for Kratos, because while he has weakened, Thor only grew in power. He possesses the full power of the Odin-Force, renamed into the Thor-Force, and far surpasses Kratos in power. Even Young Kratos would be no match for King Thor.
Kratos is definitely strong, and definitely strong enough to contend with Hulk.. But for the most part his feats are inconsistent. Hulk on the other hand is far more consistent, amd regularly shows an Incalculable level of Strength. He's bested and is seen on the level of the likes of Thor, Hercules, Sentry, and more).
DCEU Supes destroys Kratos. He's just too fast, too strong, too durable. Unless your using the highballed "lore" Kratos he's losing to basically any version of Clark. DCEU Superman has ftl feats and his heat vision more that fast ass well.
Other characters like Alucard, Ōnoki, Anos Voldigoad, Lelouch, Kaguya Otsutsuki, and many more possess unique abilities and powers that can disintegrate, immobilize, or overpower Kratos in combat.
Overall, this blue-green behemoth of a tyrant is an unbeatable character who has taken down the DC superheroes multiple times. However, his sheer strength and power would probably not work against the killer of Zeus, Kratos.
Prior to the release of God of War Ragnarök, many fans theorised that the player would be able to use Mjölnir after defeating Thor. While it is true that the hammer would have been an incredible asset for the player, it cannot be wielded or even picked up by Kratos (nor Atreus) for several reasons.
Spiderman is faster than human beings but that's just it, his spidey senses are what alerts him of immediate dangers hence the reason he can dodge bullets and other stuff and not his speed. I know all about spiderman and he doesn't stand a chance against Kratos with his Arsenal of godly weapons.
He impaled Ghost Rider in the chest by the blade, and then sent a powerful blast from the tip of the sword at Ghost Rider, launching Blaze into a boulder. Ghost Rider sat there for a moment, nearly knocked out. Kratos took his time as he dragged his blade over to Ghost Rider, who sat in defeat.
5 Saitama Can Literally Beat Kratos With A Single Punch
Saitama does not get excited about battle anymore, and that is because he has become the strongest known being in the universe. Like Kratos, Saitama possesses inhuman strength and endurance, but unlike the God of War, he has unparalleled speed and reflexes.
Thanos has been able to defeat gods multiple times before, and it usually has very little to do with power level. Thanos can defeat the most powerful deities, cosmic forces, and elders of the universe because he's done the work.
