Sometimes, it is necessary to enable third-party cookies in your browser for web-based applications to function properly. This is particularly true for applications like Blackboard that integrate other services and content, like publisher integrations and multimedia tools (e.g., Kaltura, VoiceThread).
Google Chrome
To enable cookies in Google Chrome (PC or Mac):
- In Chrome, click the Chrome menu icon (three dots in the upper right)
- Click Settings
- In the Privacysection, click Cookies and other site data
- Make sure thatBlock third-party cookies andBlock all cookies are not selected
To enable cookies in Google Chrome (iPhone or iPad):
- Open the iOS Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll and selectChrome, or swipe down to use the search field
- Enable theAllow Cross-Website Tracking slider
Safari
To enable cookies in Safari (Mac):
- In Safari, open the Safari drop-down menu and clickPreferences
- Click Privacy in the top panel
- Ensure thatPrevent cross-site trackingandBlock all cookiesare both unchecked
To enable cookies in Safari (iPhone or iPad):
- Open the iOS Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll and selectSafari, or swipe down to use the search field

- Disable theBlock All Cookies slider
Firefox
To enable cookies for specific sites in Firefox (PC or Mac):
- Visit the website
- At the left of the address bar, click the shield icon
- At the top right of the panel, toggle off the Enhanced Tracking Protection switch. This will disable Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site and will automatically reload the page
Repeat this process for any other pages where you need to allow cookies.
Microsoft Edge
To enable cookies in Edge (PC):
- In Edge, click theSettings and moremenu in the upper right (the ellipsis ...)
- ClickSettings
- Go toPrivacy, search, and services using the left-hand menu
- Ensure thatBalanced is selected
- Go toCookies and site permissions using the left-hand menu
