Elements are factors that affect the strategy of the battles in Prodigy Math Game and tie closely with the lore of the game. Each element contains fundamentally different magic from each other.

Overview[]
The elements are both imbued into both combat entities and their attacks (spells). Currently, there are nine elements: ( Astral, Shadow, Physical, Neutral, Fire, Water, Ice, Storm, and Plant).
Here is a list of where each element is most common (which place has the most entities with a certain element) and their weakness(es):

---|---|---|---|
Fire | Bonfire Spire | Water Shadow | Ice Plant (formerly) |
Water | Shipwreck Shore | Plant (formerly) | Fire |
Ice | Shiverchill Mountains, the Ice Tower (formerly) | Fire Shadow | Plant Storm (formerly) |
Plant | Firefly Forest, the Earth Tower (formerly) | Fire (formerly) Ice Shadow | Water (formerly) |
Storm | Skywatch | Ice (formerly) Plant Shadow | Water |
Shadow | Crystal Caverns, the Dark Tower | Astral | Fire Water Ice Plant Storm Physical |
Astral | Harmony Island, the Academy | Physical | Shadow Physical |
Physical | Dyno Dig Oasis | Shadow Astral | Astral |
Neutral | None | None | None |
Tips and Strategies[]
- Change the player's loadout (including accompanying pets, wand, and relic) in different zones; the player may find it beneficial to use Water element pets in Bonfire Spire and use Fire element pets in Shiverchill Mountains.
- Pay attention to the diversity of the player's spell arsenal; it may not be the best idea to have two secondary spells (equipped with a wand or relic) of the same element in a place where that spell is weak toward the majority of enemies in the area.
- In locations where there is a high diversity of non-Shadow opponents of varied elements, prepare for contingencies where it would be useful for a player to have a (an) appropriate Epic(s) (and Epic Attack) prepared.
Removed Elements[]
With changes to the lore and atmosphere of Prodigy Math, their development team found it advantageous to remove certain elements from the game and replace the elements any remaining entities (pets, bosses, or even wizards) with new ones. The following are some removed and/or replaced elements that have once existed in the game:
- Air — Air magic mostly focused on wind and the non-electrifying side of storms, but Prodigy Math replaced it with the Storm element because most of the existing spells at the time involved the manipulation of lightning. Prior to the game receiving a release with meaningful quests, the Air element had no elemental weaknesses.
- Mech — Mech magic was confined to the Epic Big Hex for a year or two since its release, and the only Mech spells to ever exist would be a modified version of Cloudshot under the same name and Storm's Wrath, which was named and given an animation more in line with the Storm aesthetic. Since Prodigy developers did not want to put in the effort to make the Mech element unique and separate in elemental strengths and weaknesses from the Storm element, they have since scrapped the element and modified Big Hex and its spells to fit Storm.
- Ice & Fire — Prodigy Math's developers, who released Chill & Char alongside three other species of dragon Epics in 2018, decided to create a unique element that would combine the strengths and weaknesses of the Ice and Fire elements. The element was used just for Chill & Char and their Epic Attack, Thermal Prism. However, since the element suffered weaknesses from both Water and Fire spells, this proved to be a difficult task for developers; as a result, they reassigned Chill & Char and Thermal Prism to the Water element as an appropriate compromise between the two.
- Wizard — The Wizard element was an element with no weaknesses and was for some time exclusively available within wizards. With the release of more diverse elements and lore-related content, pets began to be able to use Wizard spells. Prodigy developers realized this and reassigned the element to the Astral element because their spells became more aligned to astronomical themes.
- Earth — Upon the 13 September 2018 update that vastly changed the battle interface for players, the new spells and pets became partially reassigned to the Plant element. However, usage and mentioning of this element still exist as a stand-in for the Plant replacement, e.g. in the names of the three Earth resist potions Earth Resist, Rare Earth Resist, and Team Earth Resist.
Trivia[]
- Only the Puppet Master, Pippet, the Titan, Mira Shade, every Shadow boss that the Puppet Master summons during the final battle, all Crystal Cavern opponents, the wizard (with certain wands), Plushkin, Scarrow, Mimic, Member Mimic, Shade, Cloaker, Spectral, Arbite, Gryphtopus, Gryphroom, Nebula, Eclipse, Luna and Glacias can use Shadow element spells.
- Strengths and weaknesses are concepts that can be partially based off of Yugioh, Magic: The Gathering, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Pokémon.
- Players may believe the elements used in the game are derived from the Wiccan elements. Storm most closely resembles air and lighting/thunder, Astral closely resembles spirit, and Shadow closely resemble darkness. Plant, Fire, and Water are copied. Ice has been added.
- Fire was the only element in the game other than Shadow to have more than one significant strength before the 2023 Battle Remake.
- Water was the only element in the game to have more than two weaknesses before the 2023 Battle Remake.
- Neutral is the only element without any weaknesses or resistances.
- According to one of the Harmony Island Origins episodes, it says that if one element gets stronger than the others the world will fall into chaos, even though Shadow and Astral have multiple elemental strengths, Water has the least Excellent aim spells, and Neutral spells have no weaknesses.
- The only NPCs that were known to have the ability to cast Astral spells are The Ancient, Winston Von Loot, Mira Shade, Cloaked Wizards. It's implied that Noot also has the ability to do so. However, all wizard-like NPCs had their elements changed to Shadow in the 2023 Battle Remake.
- All the elements except for and Shadow and Physical may be inspired by the Bhagvad Gīta as it says that all elements of the material world are our elements.
- Theo Addiwise is currently the only wizard-like Astral-element NPC.
