Cognitive: This is the most commonly used domain. It deals with the intellectual side of learning. Learning can generally be categorized into three domains: cognitive, affective, and psychom*otor. Within each domain are multiple levels of learning that progress from more basic, surface-level learning to more complex, deeper-level learning.

Bloom's Taxonomy comprises three learning domains: the cognitive, affective, and psychom*otor, and assigns to each of these domains a hierarchy that corresponds to different levels of learning. It's important to note that the different levels of thinking defined within each domain of the Taxonomy are hierarchical.

What are psychom*otor skills? ›

Psychom*otor skills represent those activities that are primarily movement-oriented. In teaching, emphasis is placed on this movement component, although ultimately in practice, performance requires an integration of related knowledges and values.

Skills in the psychom*otor domain may range from very simple to very complex, but all psychom*otor skills are based upon some type of physical activity.

These domains of learning are the cognitive (thinking), the affective (social/emotional/feeling), and the psychom*otor (physical/kinesthetic) domain, and each one of these has a taxonomy associated with it. Taxonomy is simply a word for a classification.
